Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a fantastic day, and take the time to maybe help me out with a few things. I read some other threads on here that I hoped would be similar to my problem, but so far not much has helped.

I'll try to make this brief, seeing as I'm pretty lengthy with words sometimes, so I apologize in advance!

I recently started a new job, I've been around for about three months now, and worked really hard to get this job (the application process was downright grueling), and I really enjoy it. However, I maybe might have developed an attraction to my boss. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, as I'd just continue to focus on my work and not let it interfere with my job. But, I think he might be showing signs that he might be attracted to me? I've remained professional, and he's pretty oblivious from what I've been told by coworkers, so I don't think he knows that I feel this way. I'm 99% sure if it was true, nothing would ever come of it anyway due to his status in the workplace and what he would lose (nor would I ever want him to risk something like that --also fyi, he IS single), but I suppose I'm mostly curious as to what you guys think based upon the signals I've been getting so far.

As to those signals, the most recent one is blushing when he talks to me. We recently had a one on one conversation to discuss progress, etc and I noticed he'd turn pink when we'd be talking about certain things, awkward jokes being made (that some of them were borderline inappropriate on both our parts but I don't think I'd say was flirting). Another one would be that we're the only two at my job that constantly bicker with each other in a playful way. He doesn't do this with my other coworkers, and he always gives me this cocky smile when he gets a rise out of me. I always catch him staring at me, which admittedly I was staring first, how else would I catch him I suppose? The only thing odd to me is the blushing part, but maybe I'm just looking into it too much? I don't know him well enough, but I've heard he can be shy when talking to people in general.

Any feedback would be helpful, even if its just to assuage my curiosity. Thanks for you time (and hopefully advice!) and have a wonderful day. :)

All your hard work will go down the drain if you chase your boss and continue this flirty game with him. Is he married too?

Either way, it's going no where.. He is in the wrong to allow this to go on, he is your boss, not your buddy.

Others around you are probably noticing your behaviour around him and him around you..They aren't stupid. The gossip factor in this could devastate you, ruin your reputation as a hard working employee. Others could think you're going to get special treatment because you and him are 'close' to taking things to the next level..

Don't do it. Stop the eye contact and flirting with him.

If you want to date him and he's single - Start looking for another job, then you can go out with him once you've found a new job.

No, he's definitely single.

Also I don't have to worry about gossip because compared to some of the other female workers and those rumors revolving it makes what I posted seem tame/lame in comparison.

Also I don't know how much of my post you read, but 99% sure nothing would happen is literally what I meant. My boss is way too in love with what he does, to ever consider messing anything up for something as stupid as getting involved with an employee.

I did avoid him today, and he sought me out thinking I was upset actually over our last conversation regarding progress (which wasn't 100% positive, yet constructive), but he felt he'd crossed a line in his rebuke and somehow upset me. Your post actually makes me think that I'm definitely over thinking this way too much; however, thank you for your response. :)

Make it known that you don't want to be involved with him and that it's strictly professional. Get it out of both your heads and things should go a bit smoother.
