Char12
After three years, my first love broke up with me. He said as we were breaking up that i view love as a giant on/off switch and either put everything i have into it and fight for the relationship or don't love at all. And he was right, he's the only person i've truly loved out of all my relationships and i did fight for it until the very end. However, he said he believes you can "sort of be in love" and that how i feel about love is just for the movies. This has worried me that i have a very skewed perception of love, and that i might not find somebody who feels the same way as i do and i'm always setting myself up for failure. Can anybody share any feelings about this?
