If your wife is emotionally involved with her OM, and the affair has been ongoing for at least 6 months, you're in for some rough sailing.

The fact that she tells you that the affair "will stop" implies that it's ongoing--and not a one night fling. That's bad news for you.

If your wife is not emotionally ready to end the affair, she won't. People can be very stubborn about affairs.

I'd want to know everything about my wife's affair, and then I'd decide whether our marriage was worth saving.

I found out my ex-wife and best friend had had a two year affair in the middle of my marriage. While I did not find out about the affair (which ended two years before the divorce) until 6 months afterwards. I found out right in the middle of trying to reconcile. I also asked for details, which she and he provided with great detail. I have found no clue on how to recover.

I can only say this...if she is cheating on you, she is just not worth your time. As badly as I want her back, I know I must move on. Although it is torture without her, it would not be much better with a dishonest woman.

What a hard, hard thing to find out.. all the advice I can give is there is no point in trying unless you are both completely honest with each other from now on. Seek a marriage counsellor.
