Yes, Actually your correct about the way that you saw it. By her standing next to him, it shows him that she is loyal... if when she does this she tilts her chin upward a bit, then there is no confusion to that theory. its a positive.

 

As a mother i would stand over my child to protect them from harms way, never side by side of an abuser...Unless i was trying to show my abuser my loyalty to him.
