Consolidated Discussion - A man's/woman's height in the search for relationships

Recommended Posts

Well, if it's as simple as shifting geography, I've heard that short white dudes are golden in Japan.

I don't think it can be quite so simple as just uprooting your life and moving. In that example I gave if the Asian woman was having hard time in Africa she could move back home. Her roots/family/upbringing are back home in Asia. If her parents had emigrated before she was born, then its that bit harder to move as Africa is her home, but still she will have family back in Asia to move to + she will fit in there. A short British guy moving to Japan would turn be a bigger culture shock and he would have no family there. The upheaval in that situation is not so simple to do. I've heard mixed views on Japan - its not too tolerant of foreigners but at the same time a white guy could get bonus points with the women (exotic) plus his height will be no issue there at all. For sure short guys do go for Asian women though.

Ok. I agree. You've convinced me. So... what's next?

Why are you even wasting your time replying if you don't even have anything meaningful to say to the discussion?

Eh, men aren't going to reject a woman because of her breast size or hair color.

I'm well known for being a big boob fanatic and I really don't consider a woman's bra size when I ask her out.

Hair color is even more irrelevant.

I was in love with a guy who hung around all the time for years but when cornered, said he liked bigger boobs. Now, that wasn't the whole story, as it turned out he had an impotence problem from childhood abuse, but that was what he said at the time. So there was truth in it.

So if I disagree with you that height is an issue then you argue with me, but if I agree with you that height is an issue then... you still argue with me? I'm trying to ask what you think should happen next. What should be done? or were you just having a rant, which is fine as well.

Well, you keep saying the same exact thing like "okay, what's next" like your attacking me. So I don't understand why you keep responding with that unless you just want to start an argument.

There is a difference between liking bigger boobs, and requiring a woman to be a certain size.

My perfect woman is blonde, 5'2, 115 lbs and a 32 H.

That doesn't meant that I couldn't be crazy in love with a 5'8, 140 lbs brunette that's a 34 B.

And I don't know what should be done on the height issue. It doesn't seem like anything can be done since a lot of women are just going to prefer tall guys no matter what which is shallow in my opinion because short guys can't change how tall we are.

I'm trying to progress a discussion, not start an argument. I'm agreeing with you that short men have fewer options in dating, and that women finding tall people attractive is shallow, but since merely accepting these things isn't going to change either of them I'm wondering if you think something should change and so I'm asking what that might be.

Exactly. You got it. Nothing can be done about it. So be your fabulous self. At least the "shallow" ones are filtering themselves out for you, right? ;)

Ah, well sorry. From your posts it just seemed like you had an argumentative tone towards me like you thought everything I was saying was full of crap.

Perhaps. I don't think my looks are an issue. Obviously even for the women who don't care about height, some won't be attracted to me. I think some women would think I'm even younger than I am. I'm in my late 20's but perhaps have somewhat of a "baby face" since a lot of people seem shocked when I tell them my age. I could probably pass for being 7 to 10 years younger without a beard & no one would know I'm lying about my age. Also, have hazel eyes, brown hair & have a crew cut style haircut. I'd post my picture on here but I'd rather stay as anonymous as possible since it wouldn't surprise me if some people I know come on this site.

Oh not at all. I do look down on short guys who make out that their height is the only reason they struggle in dating and those that make the claim that because they can't change their height that there's nothing they can do about their dating struggles, because I think that's a load of hogwash.

Well you could have specifically said that before in a previous post instead of implying you've only dated guys that are 6"+.

My original post:

Just because I prefer tall men (I'm talking 6'4" / 6'6") and just because that's mostly all I've ever dated, doesn't mean that's all I've had or that I'd be against going out with someone not nearly as tall.

But yes, I do examine a guy's height right away. Sorry. /=

I've never said that my height is the only reason I struggle, but it was definitely in the top 5, if not the number 1 reason.

While I have no idea how many women have no interest in dating me simply because I'm 5'5, I'm sure it's a substantial number. Odds are I would have gotten a lot more yeses from women if I was 5'10 like my dad.

Of course height isn't the only issue, but short guys automatically no matter how successful, good looking, or great of a person they are have less options overall than a taller guy. But of course that doesn't mean a short guy can't get a beautiful girlfriend with a great personality. But it might be more challenging to achieve that.

I was tall and thin with long legs back then and had a lot of guys hanging around. I never had an hourglass figure though, short waist. Tall thin people don't usually have big boobs.

Well, there you go. Sounds like you have some great physical traits as well. I have a 27 year old daughter so I know a fair number of men and women in your age range. Attitude and personality, wit and positivity, seem to rule in their crowd. There are lots of short men in their group all with women on their arms, pretty dynamic personalities all of them.

Yeah, because he's rich & famous is why you'd have no problems dating him lol.

Mostly because he's smoking hot. But yeah. Sense of humour. Get one.

lol well it's nothing surprising, but it's never ever going to change. But I just wish the women who prefer taller guys just flat out admit it. Only one poster from the thread I made flat out admitted they prefer taller guys without making some excuse for it, or trying to twist things around & turn it into a completely different subject. Women are just as shallow as men when it comes to dating.

Sounds like it isn't the deal break you think it is for most women, and you're trying to twist our words into it being a deal breaker, trying to prove we're more shallow than we are. Why?

If he wasn't famous & was 5'3" I doubt you'd be saying he's smoking hot. You probably wouldn't even give him a second look if he was non-famous & happened to see him pass you on the street. People tend to overrate celebrities just because their famous. I see women at my gym who I find more attractive than a lot of celebrity women that guys seem to drool over.

Really? That's super odd.

Aren't you a DD? Any guy who thinks that is too small and would reject you is freaking stupid.

Yeah, they fluctuate from D to DD, but he swore up and down that they looked like B's on our first date.

If he had his way they would've been G cups.

It's a deal breaker to a lot of women. I don't think you were one of them, but there were some other posters who kept changing the subject to breast size & hair & other nonsense that had nothing to do with the topic at hand. What's any of that have to do with height, which you have no control over? It's a yes or no question to answer in terms of if height being a deal breaker or not. But it's never going to change, if a woman wants a tall guy than no one is going to change their mind.
