MidwestUSA
I used to have a huge crush on a girl who was 5'8, which meant that she was two inches taller than me. She thought I was short You were, to her. She's ONE person. You're going to let that drag you down?
somedude81
You were, to her. She's ONE person. You're going to let that drag you down? Considering I had a huge crush on her for a couple of years, yes. Still, my entire point of posting what I did was to say that I am fine pursuing women that are taller than average height, and even being taller than I am is not a deterrent.
silicone
I don't know, maybe we need a poll, to see how many guys would consider dating a perfect but (marginally or considerably) taller girl, and how many girls would consider a dating perfect but (marginally or considerably) shorter guy. The results could be interesting. Myself, I think it just comes down to individual variation. People just find different things attractive. Height is more important to some people than others, but few of us discount height entirely when deciding how attractive someone is. The shortest person I dated was 6 foot. R3d
The shortest person I dated was 6 foot. Wait, aren't you that 5'2 dude? Or are you someone else? If so, DUDE, that's insane. How the ****...
Anela
Implying that being a short man is the male equivalent of being an overweight woman. That hurts, especially because there is no way to gain height but it's possible to lose weight. Not this again. She had her personal preferences, and so did he.
Potz4prez
Why is this thread still open?
Anela
I wasn't aware this thread was about people's weight. See above. I wasn't aware that it was okay to stigmatize a person on their weight, but not their height.

Equivalent in the sense that what people find unattractive varies - you not finding overweight women attractive is equivalent to a woman not finding short guys attractive. But here's the thing - you don't have to worry about the women that don't find short guys attractive because you're not going to be dating them anyways!!
silicone
Wait, aren't you that 5'2 dude? Or are you someone else? If so, DUDE, that's insane. How the ****... Yep. She (and he) were 6 foot. The current guy is 6'3", and I feel like I'm dating my 6'8" ex all over again :/
R3d
Equivalent in the sense that what people find unattractive varies - you not finding overweight women attractive is equivalent to a woman not finding short guys attractive. No I know. And that sucks. Being short is as unattractive as being overweight for a woman. See if it was equivalent to small boob size, it wouldn't be so bad. However, and I really hate saying this, but most guys find overweight women quite unattractive. However, these women have the upside of actually being able to do something about it! All we get is limb-lengthening surgery, which costs almost $100,000 and 6+ months in a wheelchair and a lot of pain, and there's also a considerable risk of being permanently handicapped. And it only gives you like 2-4 inches. All women have to do is control their diet and exercise, and men have to do that too to a lesser extent.
Anela
Anela, don't you ever get tired of nagging me? I'm not nagging you, but don't you ever get tired of ragging on overweight women? I simply pointed out that you didn't like that that girl didn't like short men, but that it was her preference. And I hear this sort of thing all the time when it comes to women, age, and men "preferring someone younger". I "nag" you, because I relate far too easily to you, and I don't want to see you my age, and still dealing with exactly the same things.

They might not be pretty enough, they might be too old, or too young, or have had too much of a sex life to be respected by some (or not enough of one to be taken seriously by others). Everything isn't magically okay, as soon as a woman loses weight, no matter what the magazines say you should experience when you finally lose that last 10lbs.

xxoo
News flash: fat women date and get married. As do short men! No one needs to change their shape to be loved and valued. Plenty of people find love without being super sexy in shape.
somedude81
I'm not nagging you, About 90% of your posts directed towards me are nagging. but don't you ever get tired of ragging on overweight women? I wasn't even talking about overweight women. Why are you trying to create drama? I simply pointed out that you didn't like that that girl didn't like short men, but that it was her preference. Yes, I know that it was her preference. Still it hurt me because I liked her for a long time and we were good friends. It absolutely sucks to be rejected by somebody because of something I have absolutely no control over. And I hear this sort of thing all the time when it comes to women, age, and men "preferring someone younger". I "nag" you, because I relate far too easily to you, and I don't want to see you my age, and still dealing with exactly the same things. Hmm, I wasn't aware that you think you relate to me. Either way, I doubt I'll have trouble with women for much longer.
Anela
I was comparing only the most physically unattractive traits for both sexes. There is other **** that men have to worry about too. I know. I just wonder how the overweight women out there feel, every time they're put up as the most unattractive women on the planet. It isn't always easy to lose weight, but that's really a subject for another thread. I wasn't the one to bring up weight in a thread about height - not initially. People are supposed to swoop in, and make the short man feel better, assure him that there will be women out there for him; overweight women? No dice. There are so many girls and women out there, with unhealthy lifestyle habits due to wanting their weight to be as low as possible, working out too much, eating too little. Some don't eat at all. It's also you guys who think that being a short man is the worst thing ever. There are plenty of women who would date a short man, no problem, but that will be based on his other characteristics (thing is, that goes for taller men, too).

somedude81
So YOU have determined what the MOST physically unattractive trait for each sex is? Seems like a mighty subjective thing to me. I think he's right about that. To me, the unattractive physical traits a man can have are Being short Obese Bald Facial hair, though it really depends on the preference of the woman. For a woman those traits are Obese Bald Flat chest Being very tall
man_in_the_box
See above. I wasn't aware that it was okay to stigmatize a person on their weight, but not their height. Yes, haven't you learned anything from LS? Clearly the existance of an 85+ page consolidated height thread in contrast with the complete absence of a consolidated weight thread confirms this. Welcome to the jungle.

Haven't you been paying attention??? A scruff is all the rage!!! I'm not a big fan of the pornstache, but other than that, bring on the facial hair!!! Being bald is also ok these days. Just shave the whole thing off and you're a sexy mofo!
