Relationship boring due to LDR

Recommended Posts

So Long story short, fell in love with a girl, and we got together. But she is far away from me.We have not seen each other for 5 months now,but we still text everyday.I feel that our relationship is boring now and it makes me feel like giving up on her,but I don't want to because I love her. there's no passion at all by just our texting. Is this normal ? Will our passion and love hormones rage again when we see each other next month ? Pls answer, thx.

No it is not normal and it is up to the both of you to spice things up, you have things like Skype to keep you occupied. You can't touch them but it helps when you can interact with them. Get all mushy, watch a movie together, talk about the future, talk about your feelings.

Don't just sit by and let your relationship deteriorate, yeah you're far away but you can't help that. Do what you can with what you have, how much longer until you see each other?

Boredom is a killer to LDRs.

The longer I go without seeing my boyfriend, the more nuts I get. Mostly, I worry that he's getting bored with me and losing interest.

You say you're going to see her next month. That's not so long! It's up to you to put the effort into this relationship to keep it interesting across the miles.

The answer to your question lies with this one: Is she worth it? When you're together, is she more important than any other girl in the world? Or do you think you'd be bored with her in person as well? If it's just the distance boring you, hang in there.

Do you have a definite end date to your LDR-- a time when you'll both be back in the same place? If not-- if this is a long term thing that could last for years-- this type of relationship may not be for you.

But if you know you'll be together again and if you know she's absolutely worth it, then again, you're responsible for keeping it fresh. Only boring people get bored.

Ideas to help you:

1. Skype/FaceTime. Find a way to see each other, even if you can't be with each other. Some people are into doing this every day. My boyfriend and I do it once a week so we have something to look forward to.

2. Start flirting with her again. Don't treat her like she's yours and should just be 100% interested in you all the time. Keep the fire going!

3. Consider sexting or phone sex. It's kind of weird to think about for some, but in practice it can be nice.

4. Stay focused on your goal.

5. Find something you can both do together, like a tv show you both can watch at the same time or a movie you both want to see. Do it at the same time, and talk during/after it. It's kind of like a date!

6. Be spontaneous and romantic. Send her flowers, or text her just to say you love her.

And in response to the last part of your question, most likely. My boyfriend and I had to restrain ourselves from being incredibly inappropriate at the airport the last time I visited. Smell is one of the strongest parts of memory, and when you see her you'll not only be hit by her pheromones, but also by her general scents-- her laundry soap, her body spray, her hair gel, her *scent*-- things you didn't even realize you missed.

And if you see her and that doesn't happen... well, there's your answer.
