AlfOps21
I'm 21 and in a new area, so I don't know too many people. I have a job but all of the females that work there are too old. I thought why not try my local community college where there's a lot of girls my age. First off I'm a shy guy, so I already have a strike against me. What makes it worse is that even in the classrooms people from the same high schools stick together. I can get past that. What I can't deal with is that at least five of the girls I was interested have babies. These girls are like 19-22 years old. It's a real pain trying to find a single, attractive girl without kids. Any advice? Would a 4 -year college have more "dateable" females?
Mrlonelyone
A four year college would have certain advantages in dating. There your dating pool is all squestered in an environment where easy dating is expected. However at CC you can meet someone. Just be open to it. I went to a community college I met plenty of potentials there and had one really good relationship/friendship out of it.
strongnrelaxed
Community colleges serve a very diverse population of students. Harvard no so much. Your success will depend on a number of things - the class you take, the luck of the draw in terms of who is in the class with you, and of course you yourself. If you walk into any situation - a club, a bookstore, a community college - and you are too eager to meet "the right one" you will find it very very difficult. I think that if you relax a little, trust yourself, value what you bring to the table, and gain some confidence, you will find interested women whether you are in a college course or in a bowling alley. That being said, community colleges give you an advantage in a few ways. First, you are more likely to find foreign students who are eager to learn about the US. Perfect place for a guy like you. Also, women who are there are trying to improve and are likely to be from your own social class (unless I have misread this), and so you will have more in common. Ignore the single moms and the teenagers. There are many others who are not in those categories. Good luck. Find yourself and they will find you.
GLDheart
You are doing yourself a dis-service. The fact that a woman has had a child in no way "taints" her.
strongnrelaxed
You are doing yourself a dis-service. The fact that a woman has had a child in no way "taints" her. That is what single moms would like to think. The most successful men do not want to have anything to do with a single mom. Once a woman identifies herself as a single mother, she is lucky if she will ever get a good man. Unless he is successful in a certain field, but easily manipulated by women because he has mommy issues, most men want nothing to do with them. Think about it for a minute. With the gender balance in favor of men, feminism making sex easier than ever, women expecting less because they are taught to expect less, women more willing to pay for things, and men having more leisure time - why the hell would a sane single MAN want to date a single mom. I can't think of one reason other than "she's hot and he is horny" but that it not a recipe for a long term relationship. Kill the messenger if you want, but millions of men are talking now in ways that they never have. They are on to the game and they are having none of it.
GLDheart
At 21 he shouldn't be overly woriied about Long Term Relationships. With that said, I see no reason why a single mom isn't looking to have fun just like anyone else. I'm not advocating jumping into a marriage, in fact I'm implying the opposite.
