GirlontheLam Posted September 10, 2012 Share Posted September 10, 2012 Over the past few weeks, I am doing a great job picking the wrong guy! First, the one with the girlfriend. And this week I met a guy with potential. There is only one minor detail. He lives on the other side of the country. He is looking to move to my area, and is currently interviewing for a few jobs. I met him at a conference while I was getting some water. We ended up chatting for 20-30 minutes at the water cooler (oops, I missed part of a meeting, and my friend was dying of thirst waiting for me). Then again towards the end of the conference. And at the cocktail hour. He was cute, and my type. The only problem is he is a little younger than my age threshold, but he seems to be mature enough. (I look pretty young, so generally younger guys approach me, and they tend to think I am younger than they are. I usually come clean about my age pretty fast.) Good body language from him. He jumped in early on the arm touches/shoulder touches. And the goodbye hugs. Good chemistry. Oh well! Maybe he gets a job nearby. Or there is always professional networking. (It is good for his career to move to my region, so it is very high on his priority list.) We promised to meet up once he is permanent in my area. Good thing I found another guy to flirt with that actually lives in town! This guy I met maybe a year ago at another conference. We ended up having an epic post-conference happy hour (with about 5 other people) and we chatted some then. And then he invited me to his weekly happy hour. I got busy and forgot all about it. Hadn't run into him since then. Anyway, he was super enthusiastic to see me. I am attracted to this guy, but not really sure about meshing personality wise. But he is an interesting guy, and the "life of the party type." I tend to get on really well with those types (and he has a great accent! I am a sucker for accents) I guess I need to go to happy hour soon to find out. I really need to pick people that are a little more "available." This is getting ridiculous.
