Lobouspo
Best I can tell, this is Christ's first miracle in his public ministry, where HIS MOTHER interceded on behalf of the organizers of the wedding when they ran out of wine. For all the grief the Catholic Church gets of idolatry and praying to saints, here is clear biblical example of intercessory activity by Mary. Contrary to belief, Catholics do not worship Mary or saints. Catholics ask for their intercession, just as a brother in Christ I may ask another Christian to pray for me. The Bible is rich with other examples: Moses interceding on behalf of the Israelites, Abraham interceding on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah. Would like to get others' take on this, especially other believers.
mercy
Jesus is the greatest example of intercessory prayer. Through Him we now have direct access to God. I just love these verses. 1 Timothy 2 King James Version (KJV) 2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Forgive me, but I cannot help but stand here completely dumbstuck by the blatant crassness and cruelty of this particular "miracle" So, Mary asks Jesus to make some wine magically appear at a wedding and he does it. Yet untold numbers of horrific atrocities are inflicted upon good decent humans before, during and after that wedding, but for some "mysterious" reason, god chooses to remain, well, mysterious. I cannot for the life of me understand how this is ok with so many good people.

mercy
Perfect example of intercessory prayer, praying for those countries in need and ones in need in our home country. Not only praying but getting out there and changing things. Taking evil and turning it to good. It's what God expects of us. We just have to change ourselves to make changes in the world. King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Yes, and god created everything including man and evil and free will. In fact, god is the only one who could have created and bestowed free will.
