simplybrill
I think....my boss is playing favorites. This other employee at my job just came back from vacation (aka "study abroad") has gotten herself in debt over it, instead of taking student loans (the smart route) or applying for scholarships!! Let me explain quickly: Well during the fall and spring term there are up to 4 of us rotating hours, and my boss made up the schedule. Well here's the wierd part, this girl looks like she could be my boss's daughter, and they get on really really well - joking and laughing and carrying on whenever she's in the office. She's totally fake with everyone and I cant tell if people are just going along with it, or are falling for her routine. And my boss's repore with me, is well....lukewarm, and its not like I dont try! This girl that's chattin it up with my boss, is LEAVING this upcoming Fall, and I have a horrible feeling that she stole my hours, that my boss favors her over everyone else and caters to her A) because she reminds her of her daughters and is leaving, and B) because my boss is playing favorites, even if she doesnt realize it! There have been many versions of the schedule for Fall made up, and on the next to last one, everyone had hours, (even this girl thats leaving) and I had a good amount of hours to survive on, where I could afford to keep my head just above water. NOW...this girl's most likely cried to my boss how she's put herself in debt and NOW,,,my boss scratched that schedule, drawn up a whole new one,,,and guess who's got LOADS of hours, and guess who's barely got any!!! Now Im looking for another job, to make up for the hours that got cut! So ill be working 2 jobs, AND taking Uni classes. It should be said..im not jealous of her stupid vacation.Im planning on going on one as soon as I can afford it, Im not gonna be an idiot and put myself in debt over it. Mr Spock
Have you talked to the boss about this? Make reference to both schedules and NOT to the fact you think she's playing favourites.
brashgal
Maybe you'll get lucky enough to find another job INSTEAD of this job where there isn't as much office politics. At least that is what I am hoping for you! Chin up!
