No confidence and no reason to live

Recommended Posts

I am too ugly to live. Honestly. My self esteem is so low that sometimes i dont see the point of my life. My opinion of myself is so low, and when someone tells me i am attractive i think they are either trying to be nice, or just feel sorry for me. I dont know what to do. Every day of my life i wish to know how it is to be beautiful. It must feel really good. But i will never know. You know, there are little things happen to me on daily basis that make me confused about my looks. SOmetimes i feel somewhat attractive but something has to happen to make me change my mind quickly. I really need help, i wish there was a support group in my area so i could get help

Why do you focus on your outside? And why do you think your looks are a problem? You don't need to be beautiful or handsome; if you are friendly and kind and greet people with friendliness, you'll get the same in return. OTOH, if you go around sour-faced because you're focusing on yourself, you will isolate your own self. Turn your attention to others and you'll be much happier!

Moimeme has a good point, but I'd say it differently. I'd say it this way: get over yourself. I don't mean it to sound critical, but I do mean that if you are continually thinking about this, then whatever good traits you have won't ever show. As long as that's the case, you're wasting a lot of time. To put it another way, when you aren't being so hard on yourself, what is good about you will reveal itself naturally.

Easier said than done, but what would make the biggest difference for you would be to forget about your looks. If you're truly so hideous, which I seriously doubt, then you'd better start finding things about yourself that you do like. Can you make yourself laugh? What are you good at? Math? English? Music? Psychology? What interests you and why? As long as you focus on what you think isn't good enough, you won't be giving anyone a chance to get to know what you actually have to offer.

I have a lot more respect for people who go through life overcoming challenges than I do either for people who are never challenged or for people who never rise up. I can name 10 ugly people right now who are incredible successes.

its very hard for me to just get over myself. I've had so many people tell me that i am hideous, but then i had many people tell me i am not. I figured they only say that cause they dont want to hurt my feelings. Isnt it obvious anyways?

Well, here are my pictures, just few of them

Ok, I can't believe that you seriously think that you are ugly. You are in no way ugly. I think that you know that deep down inside, but you just want to hear it from others.

I think you're cute... especially with that smile ;) .

I do know how you feel though. I can be talking to guys online and they'll be telling me how "perfect" I am... until I send them a pic. Ah well... their loss. Least I know if someone is going to be with me, it's because he likes who I am on the inside rather than just wanting a "trophy" by his side.

thanks alot, thats nice to hear. ANd no i dont find myself attractive even deep inside. SOmetimes i do, those times are rare but happy. I am just very confused, i mean its alright with me to think of myself as ugly as long as i am, I just dont want to waste my time and get depressed thinking "Oh what if i am not ugly and i am thinking of myself like that?"

I'm Gilligan!

Hey, you look a little like me...Girls think I'm hot! And I think they're insane! But who's to argue?!

I think you're cute too! But it really doesn't matter what any one person thinks, right? Opinions about physical attractiveness (like anything else) are completely subjective. (Look how many people think Brad Pitt is a hottie--to me, his looks are as bland as cornflakes. . . .)

You just need to focus on the women who *will* find you attractive, rather than obsessing about some objective standard of attractiveness that doesn't exist.

Ooops, sorry to make the heteronormative assumption. My bad. Still, the same basic point applies, no?

you should have said you were gay and wanted input from like minded guys...that said...you can forget about what I said about girls thinking I'm hot...though it's true it's not what you're after...or is it?

YES I am a big giant GOOFBALL

:D

BTW...from the poses you don't look gay...though you could easily look so by doing the oh so familiar and stereotypical limp wrist pose, hehe ;)

There are children suffering in Haiti. They have no food to eat. They live on cookies made out of margarine, dirt and mud. These children have known nothing but pain since the day they were born, yet they continue to struggle and continue to live.

I am insulted that you post that because you have low self-esteem and think you're ugly that you have no reason to live. You have clothes on your back. You have a camera. You have a computer. You appear to have some form of education. Yet because you don't think your face is attractive enough you want to waste your life. You want to wallow in your own depression because someone told you that you were ugly.

I am not disgusted by your face. You're actually an attractive young man, but I am disappointed by your complete and utter lack of respect for human life.

There are people in this world that are truly suffering and my comment may seem harsh to some but I refuse to lend my empathy to someone that places importance on something so pretentious and superficial that they would actually demean the reality of people that do truly suffer and consider suicide as their only option.
