Recommended Posts

I want to lose weight, I really do but everytime I get started with the healthy eating an exercise, I "fall off the wagon" as my mom and I say.

So, for anyone who is sucessfully losing weight (in a healthy manner, mind you) how do you stay motivated to do it??

I want to get my belly button peirced, but I have to have a nice belly to put it on!

I am still in the process of "getting there" but I will be glad to share with you what is working for me.

Don't think about if you want to exercise or not at first....just do it. After you have disciplined yourself to get moving in some fashion for at least 30 minutes EVERY DAY, you will find that it has become easier and easier. Making friends at the gym or on the walking trail is helpful as well. You will begin to feel part of a "club" of sorts.....one of the few people who are reshaping their lives by reshaping their bodies.

As you lose the extra weight.....and you will......give away all those baggy clother you've been wearing and begin to wear clothes that actually fit you and are not clothes you think will hide the extra weight. Begin to wear jeans that zip in place of the stretchy, pull on ones. Big difference.

Drink your H20! At least 64 oz. a day should be your goal. You will get used to it. People underestimate the need for water and neglect to include it in their diet. Don't do that.

Keep track of what you are actually eating every day. Write it down and review it honestly. Are you eating foods that will help you or harm you?

Think long term gratification......not short term fix.

In the end, you will be in control of your life because you have reached the goal of controling your appetite instead of your cravings controlling you.

Tell yourself......I'm doing it, I'm doing it, I'm doing it.

then......Do It!!!

Just get started.

Best wishes to you.

You have to WANT it so badly that nothing will stand in your way - not the chocolate bar or the burger or anything. I was about 17lbs over my ideal weight. I went back to dance classes and didn't enjoy the extra lbs - I could tell they affected my dancing. Now those lbs are gone, all my clothes fit properly and I feel much, much better and wanting to feel that way alone is enough to keep me going. I noticed I might have an extra lb or two so I'll cut back for the next couple of days and I'll be good to go again. But it's because it feels so good to feel this way that I WANT it.
