deeln_w/_it
Hello, all. My problem involves going through a break-up w/ my girlfriend and lover of 5 years. We have been on a "break" for the last few weeks. It stemmed from a few acts of disrespect on my part and snowballed from there. In the past I, admittedly, have done some questionable things to her...physically. Never more then a finger-flick to the head or a quick shove to get her out of my face, but... Anyway, I suppose it got too much for her and she cheated on me, then lied about it when I confronted her about my suspicions (I just had a feeling). Well, now, she is the one that is reluctant to try and work things out. We see each other here and then, and have a real good time together , but when I ask her to try and work things out she says she's not sure if she "can't" right now. I can't get her out of mind and would do just about anything to convince her of my sincere regret. Just can't seem to get a read on the situation fully and would appreciate some advice... Olivia_19742004
Never more then a finger-flick to the head or a quick shove to get her out of my face, but... Uh...I'm assuming you realize that this behavior is unacceptable and not the way you treat someone you love? With that in mind, what assurances are you giving her that you do truly regret that you've done this and how are you going to change? Unless you make some step to ensure that you won't treat her this way I doubt you have much of a chance to recapture the relationship you two had. And, to be perfectly honest you may have already lost her. Once someone reaches the point where they find their own confidence to break away it's very hard to get them back (in my opinion).
