CherryT
Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum but could use some words of encouragement or any tips you may have for a long distance newbie... My boyfriend of 3 months and I met on Vacation and started dating. We haven't stopped talking since the first day we met and we make efforts to always discuss our day with each other and try to get some face-to-face time (skype) every other day. I live in British Columbia, Canada and he lives in San Fran, California. It's a 2.5-3 hour flight each way. We have already done one trip each (once a month). I am going back again in a few weeks and he'll be here in November. We've also planned a trip over the winter holidays, separate from both of our families. I am 25 and he is 28 and we're both well employed. I'm not sure what I'm looking for... other than just some words of advice since this is so new to me. He is the only one that I've really connected with. Maybe it's the distance and all we have is communication, maybe it's just the desire since we're apart... I Don't know what it is but I know I want to be with him. I just know we're not exactly there yet and there's a lot of time/details we'll have to discuss in the next few months/year before we decide on what to do and who will have to overhaul their life. I can say that we're both on the same page. We both feel the same and are both willing to sacrifice and make the effort. I talk to his friends and vice versa. We're very transparent. He makes sures to check in as if he's in the same city as me. It's great. I just don't know how LD relationships progress. Edited September 28, 2012 by CherryT
esstea
Haha how ironic. I actually live in BC too and my boyfriend lives in Portland, OR. I'm not really sure what exactly you're asking.. It looks like you kind of know what you're doing. Every relationship in my opinion has it's natural way of progressing, even if it is a long distance one. You can't really expect it to happen a certain way, just go with the flow.
