MilitantPacifist
He isn't rich. Said he saved for two years for the surgery and took his time seeing several plastic surgeons until he found one specializing in noses. He isn't much taller than I am and isn't gym buff, but isn't fat either. He is late thirties. Start saving your money and stop complaining. Wow, great advise lady. "If you aren't lucky enough to be one of the 1% and you aren't blessed with a hot bod, why not plastic surgery?" The stupid, it burns. Plastic surgery is something that for most people destroys their finances, becomes an obsession until they can afford it, and carries a health risk up to and including death. Disenchantedly Yours
Not to mention by promoting plastic surgery we are pretty much promoting the death of diversity.
Negative Nancy
Wow, great advise lady. "If you aren't lucky enough to be one of the 1% and you aren't blessed with a hot bod, why not plastic surgery?" That's the exact advise men gave to women here so no need to whine about it now that the shoe is on the other foot. Here's the equivalent to all the pressure and pain women have to go through: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2080771/Would-spend-34-000-3-INCHES-taller-Thomas-Keeper-thigh-bone-sawn-half-spent-months-hobbling-frame.html Edited September 29, 2012 by Negative Nancy

Well, I'm new here so I don't know what others have been saying, only that her particular post was dreadful. It's not whining to suggest someone give advice that isn't detrimental to other human beings.
TheBigQuestion
The male equivalent of this woman is a slightly above average looking dude with maybe one or two physical traits that stand out positively. I fail to see why any controversy arose in this thread. The girl is in reasonably good shape and, like most people, would eventually end up with someone comparable to her in terms of physical appearance.
SandRat
I'll say it again; Some people are just too hung up on looks. These are the most shallow people here. I've grown to see more than the outside when considering someone as a mate. This doesn't mean I'm getting with some fugly woman just because she's nice, let's face it, you need to SEE something that makes you interested. Maybe I simply am satisfied with women that aren't obviously oogly at first sight. There are some wonderful people out there that AREN'T models! Just sayin.
O'farrell
Enough height surgery bull****. Do you want to have your bones broken by a hammer in hopes that they will grow back longer? Thats painful you know, and the pain lasts for a few months to a year- the time is takes for the bones to reconnect. You will be sedentary for that period of time as well-no job. sweetjasmine
The male equivalent of things one can do to make oneself attractive to a good number of people? I think this is a silly thing to worry about, but I'll play. Here's the male equivalent: bathe, brush your teeth, use deodorant, and learn how to have conversations and be charming. You're welcome.

SJC2008
So for a man to equal a woman who goes to the gym four times a week and the tanning salon twice, and spends 100 dollars on getting her hair bleached, you have to have the genetics of a movie star AND height? That sure sounds fair. Let's be honest. Her body isn't even that great. You can see some flab in her midsection. To this and the one who posted that she's average where he lives: Yall either live in victoria secret land or are 10's yourselves and have women fighting over you. She has a great body, a perfect one IMO. I can see the outline of her face and can tell by her features she's an attractive women. I stand by what I said in that she can probably get most any guy she wants.

Seriously, I want to see. Because I don't think this women is just "slightly" above average.
HeavenOrHell
One word to make men, or women, attractive to me; Personality. I found this random picture of this random woman over the internet: GirlOne | Flickr - Photo Sharing! and it got me thinking... The woman in that photo would be attractive to like 80% of men. And most women could work on themselves to look like that. Never mind her face (not special anyway) which I blocked out for effect. She has nice hair, a nice body, decent boobs, and a nice tan. She could be anywhere 4'10" to 6'0" tall, a few to 15 pounds overweight. She'd still be attractive. Couple that pic with a decent personality and the sky is the limit in terms of getting guys. I believe most women could look like that hitting the gym, tanning salon, and maybe a boob job (not very expensive). Women have so much they can work on to make themselves more attractive. So, what is the equivalent for men? What can men do to make themselves more attractive? Really buff men only appeal to a few women. And a fit man just won't lose points. verhrzn
You do realize exercise doesn't change the shape of someone's boobs, right? Droopy is still droopy. Small/large is still small/large. In fact, I've heard a lot of women complain that when they do lose weight, the FIRST place they lose it is in their bra. So, unless you are genetically gifted that fat in your boobs just stays there, you might end up with a woman who exercises but still has small, droopy boobs. Exercise also can't "spot check" fat. Exercise can help you lose weight, but it won't necessarily help you lose weight evenly. For example, at my skinniest (which was 113 pounds), I had very skinny arms and shoulders (my collar bones sticking out), but still had a round, fat belly, because that is the last place I lose weight. I kind of looked like one of those malnourished kids from Africa-skinny extremities but a big stomach. Exercise couldn't help me lose weight in my stomach, because I couldn't control WHERE I lost the weight. Lastly, have you ever tried tanning? It's an expensive hobby, and not everybody can tan. I sit out for the same length of time as my sister, and she'll tan beautifully, while I turn red, and then eventually fade back to pale. Long story short: knock off the "women have it so easy to be physically attractive!" Seriously. Stop it. Now.
Hawaii50
Sean o'pry was called a completely average looking guy in a thread I made yesterday. That thread was deleted. I guess to that woman 98% of men must look like complete ****. boy next door, Sean opry: http://i.models.com/i/db/2010/1/16868/16868-800w.jpg Most WOMEN want a MAN... Most Women aren't distracted as easily as us guys. Edit: He is a "Male-Model", let's all look up "model" in the dictionary.. Yes! And impression of "man" has as much to do with personality and essence as it does with physical appearance. Women can be attracted on appearance alone, but typically it involves much more for a woman to be attracted. This is good news for guys, because you can improves your attractiveness in ways outside of changing your appearance. A woman who is not physically attractive will not become attractive through personality, or charm, or success....but a man can.

I'm wondering what a true "10" looks like to you then. Seriously, I want to see. Because I don't think this women is just "slightly" above average. The vast majority of people are "average" looking. Only a few are exceptional, "beautiful," or "hot." The girl in the OP's picture is pretty good looking, but she is not very far above average in the grand scheme of things. With that said, she obviously wouldn't have any trouble finding dates, nor would her male equivalent. And like I said before, statistically speaking, most people end up with people similar to them in terms of physical appearance.
Author jobaba
Jobaba, I was further thinking about this. You freely posted a picture of another woman for judgement and comparison without her permission. How about you post a picture of yourself as well and hold yourself accountable for the same judgement and comparsion to other men? I think there should be a new rule on LS. If you are going to post pictures of regular people without their knowledge or consent to judge and talk about them, then you also should be willing to post pictures of yourself in turn up for the same kind of talk. But I know you won't Jobaba. Because while you are totally okay with doing this to other people, My guess is that you would never want this done to you. Which is why you allow yourself to be faceless and bodyless to us even as you treat other people this way. But prove me wrong. I challenge you to post a picture of yourself with your face scratched out. Treat yourself as you treated this woman in this picture. It's a model from a male testosterone ad. Google it and you will see yourself... Maybe you should take another break from here, OP. Great idea. This is yet another thread I regret posting...
