Ive been with my bf for five months and still have not yet met his 5 year old daughter./ Is this normal? I am starting to get frustrated./ I feel like I am not good enough. We have talked about htis and he really wants me to meet her, but the kids mom does want any women around her unless its serious which we are./ She threatens that she wont let him see his daughter if he brings me around her. I can understand where is ex is coming from about you two being serious first. Its hard on a kid to bring numerous people in and out of their lives. Give it time. ( but I am the mother in this situation) It's obvious that she still has feelings for him or is being vindictive 5 months is a long time. or she feel's like she is being replaced. If I we're you I would talk to her over the phone Nicely once you piss her off the option is completely out of the question for sure. And just say I've heard what a wonderful child you have and I would be honored to meet the both of you. that way she is not threatned. Talk to her about it, and be nice and understanding with her. Tell her that it shows what a great mother she is being looking out for her child like that ( I bet that will work) Don't talk about your boyfriend and if she starts just say I am sorry you will have to take that up with him. To me, something serious (serious as in potential marriage or lifelong love interest) doesn't really develop until well past 9 months to a year.
