But I got some really great news today, actually, two items of great news about my career - and I SO badly want to share with him. He has always been so supportive of my career, and has always been my biggest cheerleader and shown so much pride for my advancements and success - I so badly want to tell him about the two phone calls I got today! Agh! I got offered a promotion that I have been wanting - it's supervisory of a large group of providers, and although it would cut down on my face to face with clients, it would allow me to be much more involved in research, which I love. And, it pays fantastically! I also got offered another contract that I had been working on - one that is exactly what I love doing with my favorite population, and exMM had been crossing his fingers for me (although he was convinced they were going to give the contract to me bc he's convinced I'm brilliant - bless him!), and would ask me about it every time we talked. I will keep this news for later, but I gotta admit, this is HARD. To not just text him, or call him to tell him - bc I know how happy he would be for me, and how excited for me, and how proud. He has always been so good about encouraging my success and providing praise and kudos when I do well (as I do for him). And, I really want to share this with him... So, settling for sharing here - and will share with my sister and best friend when we talk later. Life is good sometimes - and I knew that all of my hard work and dedication would pay off. I will this weekend, I'm still fighting the flu a little bit... lol. It made my day though - heck, maybe my week - or year! It will also give me a chance to get more published, which is always exciting to me, but also doesn't look bad on a resume. If he had an equivalent achievement would you have wanted him to contact you? Would you have thought it stifling or somehow impeding on your 'space'? Just curious. Congrats again. It is natural that you would want to share it with him. I am guessing that he would be happy for you. You are strong and will move on...your best life is ahead!
