M30USA
After having had lengthly discussions with JWs, I finally discovered they believe that Jesus was an angel, specifically Michael. I immediately had some verses from Hebrews pop up in my mind, especially the one which says that God (the Father) never said unto any of the angels, "Thou art my son." Additionally, the writer of Hebrews says that Jesus came in the nature of Adam (man), and not in the nature of angels. Lastly, he says that God surely helps the children of Abraham, and not the angels. Now here is where it gets interesting... The very fact that Hebrews needed to address this issue tells us that Jesus could (mistakenly) be thought of as an angel. Think about that. A human being who walked, talked, breathed, and lived on earth...and they think (mistakenly) that he was an angel. This tells us that--yes--angels CAN walk, talk, breath, and live on earth. It's not like they just had this far out idea. Biblically, angels appear human. So their belief, while false, is partly based on truth. This is why Hebrews had to address it. But what does this tell us about the nature of angels? I have studied angels in depth. They are not what most people think. The best way to view them is as humans, which are more advanced and are not limited to the 3-dimensional world. That is truly how I view them.
mercy
Why does one care what another believes? Ok, you're right they're wrong. Now what?
Author M30USA
Why does one care what another believes? Ok, you're right they're wrong. Now what? Whoa, my point wasn't that they're wrong. You clearly didn't read my post. My point was that there is a REASON why they believe that. This reason is based on a legitimate, true principal. Did you even read my post? mercy
Yes, I did. You're right, I'm wrong. Now what?
Author M30USA
My point is that the JW beliefs shed light on the fact that angels can be human beings that walk in our midst, apparently unnoticed.
mercy
Best angel story ever! Luke 2:10-15 KJV 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

'Tis. By the way, ever wonder how a "star" can travel across the sky...then just STOP over where Jesus was being born? I suggest that, considering the Bible in other places refers to angels as "stars", this star of Bethlehem was an angel, not a constellation star.

If we could know all the stuff going on behind the scenes in the Bible, it would look like science fiction. So much so that I doubt many Christians would even believe it, lol. pie2
M30...I'm confused ! I know we shouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water, but the foundation for this argument seems, well, non-existent! Am I understanding: JWs erroneously believe Jesus (who walked and talked on the earth) was an angel. Therefore angels can walk and talk on the earth. What if they had said, Jesus (who walked and talked) was a cloud. Therefore, clouds can walk and talk?? That's not right!
