Author Emilia
For a girl, as I don't see too many girls coming near free weights, let alone a barbell. It's difficult without a training partner, I would have switched to bench press away from any machines by now if I could train with someone regularly. Deadlifts or squats I can do on my own. It's hard knowing where to start, everyone else looks much stronger and come across as if they know what they are doing (now I know that's not the case necessarily ) and it's intimidating initially. Now that I train with the guys around me I can tell the difference between body builders and those that train for strength (we are in the minority) and we mutually ignore each other. When you start out you don't know these things though.
MonsterMash
If you weren't all the way across the bloody pond, you could lift with me. I enjoy sharing the pain. Hahaha

ian.delano
If I have calluses because of weight lifting/weight training, I would be somehow proud of it because that is the evidence I do and perform the training well and effectively, well calluses are still not good to see. I have calluses in my feet, it is because of always wearing shoes, do you have any strategies on how to get rid of it? Maybe I should visit a foot spa.
Dessembrae
Ahhh a post I can help with!!! ok heres what you need. 1) a bucket of warm water/ or do this right after a shower 2) a dull butter knife (one you'll only ever use for this!) 3) Pumace stone. After a shower or after soaking your hands in warm water until your calluses turn white take the butter knife and scrape off the dead white skin. Don't push too hard so it hurts, all you're doing is removing skin that already dead so you shouldnt feel anything. After removing as much as possible with the knife switch to the Pumace stone and smooth them out and get rid of all he smaller pieces of skin. I do this every couple months, the callosese are there for a reason but letter them grow to much will cause them to tear and trust me it SUCKS! Also using lotion will help keep your palms smooth, last thing you want is a girl to call you sand paper hands.... Yeah personal experience
