aussietigerwolf
I am only half joking. I am currently working on my social skills, but I still worry that I am going to be one of the gus who is 60 years old with no family and no relationship. I still hear about short guys in their 40's who are unable to get girls, but I also hear about other short guys who are successful. i am trying to learn how to be like them. If all else fails, then I will look at buying a wife from places like the middle east where they have no rights and can be purchased. Yeah.... Don't think height is your problem...
IT Geek
I don't know about buying a wife, but I'm seriously considering buying a date off whatsyourprice.com for our company Christmas party since I couldn't find a date.
normal person
If you think buying a wife is going to make you happy and solve your problems, you might want to think again. You're basically just paying top dollar for a woman to clean, cook, and begrudgingly have sex with you. I can imagine a woman being appreciative of you for bringing her out of poverty, but that's in no way an indication that she'll love or even like you. I would never want to be bound to a woman who was merely "tolerant" of me. She'll be thinking "I have to deal with him because it's better than the alternative." You won't be her choice, the lifestyle change will be. Yes, you may grow to like each other over time...but I'm wagering that you don't. You'll ultimately be just as unsatisfied as you were before, and many thousands of dollars poorer. What do you say to your kids when they ask you two met? I'm sure I'm missing something, but it boggles my mind that there are people out there who do this.
taiko
You would be preying on someone that is desperate enough to get out of their situation that they will agree to be with someone they don't even know for the rest of their life. I'll also point out that not all of these women are even willing participants, it's human trafficking. They have to go through their sponsor's national spousal visa process. Most nations weed out any outright sale and what the marriage broker sells is immigration para-legal service and a website of women who offered themselves up for possible marriage as oppose to folks just playing chat on the internet. amazingdrummer
It's actually very sad to hear all the comments about 3rd world gold digger. I come from 3rd world country, I'm cute, loving and well-educated. I'm cheerful and kind-hearted (at least that's what most people told me). My boyfriend is an American, and he is way older than me. Now I have to start thinking what is really going into his mind, if he is really look down on me cuz of those '3rd world country stuff'.
bac
The posters who said she will leave and cheat are right. Once she is here she will take off and leave you being responsible for any financial **** she may cause. How do you propose on preventing her from leaving? The problem is that the men are buying wives out of their league. It means ugly, short, old, fat American men are buying much younger very beautiful foreign girls. The girls will definitely leave the men because the girls are not a match for the men. If the ugly, short, old, fat American men were buying women who were right for them, the foreign women would never leave them. Also, if the ugly, short, fat American men had realistic expectations and standards, they would be able to find plenty of ugly, fat, old women(=the women from their league) in the US as well. trevzilla
The cynic in me screams don't do it. Big chance of getting scammed and used just so they can get into your country. After being cheated on by my ex wife, my confidence doesn't need another blow like that.
rys
Hahaha im from a third world country, and I didnt know there are stores here haha
trevzilla
Also if you're going to get a woman that way where they feel nothing for you and it's economic, why buy when you can rent? At least then you won't be financially destroyed when they leave after your "appointment".
Radu
Get a prenup in place and talk to a damn good lawyer and accountant. Otherwise you are just setting yourself up to be a smuck.
rupert-hill
I knew a guy who married a russian bride (from a service)... well, they married and she lived with him in the USA. He seemed to be the happiest man I knew. Once she achieved her citizenship, suddenly they no longer got along with each other and then had a divorce. Later in life, I became friends with a guy in grad school and this same scenario happened to him, except his wife was from France and he met her on an overseas trip. Well, they divorced after she got her citizenship and he concluded that some foreign women are pre-programmed to do this to men through their upbringing. His final solution? Well, he moved to the UK from the USA, met a beautiful girl, married her there and they're raising a family.
Author Sun Devil
If I resort to buying a wife, I will buy from a place where women have no rights. That way, she will be conditioned to obey me.
Els
....This is probably the only thread where I'd try to pound 'The Risks of Marriage' through people's skulls... You are welcome to 'buy' whomever you please (although most of the Bride websites are scams, I hope you realize), but what exactly do you think a woman who doesn't love you is going to do once she gets what she wanted (citizenship)? It doesn't take that long, you know.
Mumbles
If I resort to buying a wife, I will buy from a place where women have no rights. That way, she will be conditioned to obey me. Good lord. I'm pretty open to some new experiences, see some of my recent posts. But I think you're having a lend of us with that comment. Even if you could find a way to buy a slave and somehow turn her into your 'wife' she's still human. You're not going to be able to buy a 'product' in human form. Seriously mate, invest in a real doll (https://www.realdoll.com/) ** Note: Not a work or family safe link If I take a leap of faith here and assume you're not a forums troll, and are actually serious about something, I have to ask: whats the "something" you are after? Hiring a house cleaner who's prepared to also cook you a daily meal, and going to see prostitutes or escorts is going to be less damaging for any woman and for you too, ultimately. You need, from my take on the comment above, to seriously start to socialise with women at _any_ level in order to begin to humanise them. If you're just super horny, go to a brothel, immediately, and get it out of your system so that you can start to think clearly and more humanly.
Nightsky
To the OP don't BUY a wife just travel to the poor country and get one. I'm in my late 20's and in the same boat Sun Devil. I'm gonna give it a few more years. I've spent a long time not putting any effort into improving myself so gonna give it a few years of serious effort and see where I get. With buying a wife, what's to stop her just running away once she is here and married and a citizen? What state do you live in? Not all of them are the same you know. Consider traveling in the US. Also make sure you're trying. A lot of guys who claim to have problems with girls really don't even ask them out. Well it is a possibility and a lot of men do it. You don't necessarily need to buy a wife. You can literally visit a country and you will most likely meet girls from poor communities who are looking for foreign men. Women around the world have different cultures etc. Yes traveling the world is much better than buying a wife. I've never been to a truly poor country but still had women throwing themselves at the "AMERICAN" when I travled. So obviously if you go to a poor country looking for romance you'll have every one from the girls to the girls uncle approaching you. I mean heck if you live in government subsidized housing and have clean food and water you'll be seen as a rich guy. Send a few dollars home to her family a month and you'll be a hero lol. If you actually have a job and your own place omg they'll think they met the monopoly man lol. Thing is if you're some loser with out any commanding presence I'm sure even your foreign wife will grow to hate you. Be commanding. Your reason for going abroad for women shouldn't be because you can't get women here believe me its easy, it should be because you've been forced to travel the world looking for some one compatible. if you're just some wuss who can't even handle a woman a foreign women might and probably will walk all over you... Although they won't necesarily walk all over you hmm study the culture...
outsidethebox
The few men here who would use the phrase "buy a wife" (and some extend it with slave like talk) are just trying to get a rise out of people. Attention wh0res I think its called. They and everyone else knows very well that you're not buying a wife, you're paying for a trip to another country and an introduction service, and possibly help with visa paperwork. Now is a foreign bride a good idea? I've seen some interesting comments in this thread, always interesting to read opinions on this. If you're half the ********* some posters portray themselves as, then gee it's not surprising that a woman would leave as soon as she could. There's plenty of success, and just like with marriages to people you know pretty well, some not so much success. The ten year responsibility obligation was an eye opener though. I had never heard that one. This is the only thread I've seen that stated but I didn't google and search on it.
