Are some girls too nice to say no!

How can someone get closure from a girl who is too 'nice' to say no?! I dated this girl for a few months and she basically became distant but said that nothing was wrong. Well eventually things went south and things ended (neither of us officially ended things - it just ended).

Well I still hang out with her as friends and I recently asked her out on a date. She said yes. I'm beginning to think that this girl is not capable of saying no - even if she is not interested! If it is not going to work out with her I at least want closure! We have been friends for a long time (10+ years) and we have a lot of mutual friends, so NC is not really a viable option, although I wish it was!

Any advice on how to approach this situation?

Reality Check:

If she is too nice to say "no" to you, do you really think she is saying "no" to other guys? You don't seem to be too broken up about it and you did not say the word "Love".

I would say get out before you put yourself through more pain. You should keep the friendship going if it was 10 years' strong. See where things lead, but I would suggest you don't put yourself through it now. It is bound to end again and maybe you will love her or be married. If she is too weak to say no, why would you want to be with such a "weak" person? Are you looking for someone you can manipulate? That is not a healthy relationship. Just one guy's opinion.

Well I do really like her, but I obviously only want to be with her if the feeling is mutual...

I asked her out again because a mutual friend (one of her good friends) is convinced that she still has feelings for me and so I took her advice and went with it.

I really just want her to say that she's not interested and then move on. If she can't tell me that then I feel like I will just have to go NC, even though we have been friends for awhile.
