jobaba
Anyone who reads my drivel knows that I firmly believe our 'immutable' sense of attraction are tied to upbringing and media exposure. I believe it is one of the reasons Asian males are generally seen as less desirable. Things are changing a little bit. We now have Asian movie stars and sex symbols... Asians who star at mainstream sports typically reserved for those who are tall and strong and alpha... Google Image Result for http://img2-2.timeinc.net/people/i/2012/news/120227/jeremy-lin-300.jpg And now, Asian male pornstars... Keni Styles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I discovered this dude during my normal *ahem* routines and yep, he is the first Asian male pornstar in the Western industry. And if you check out his 'body of work' and 'co-workers', he is not picking from the bottom of the barrel! Hooray for progress? (I know what you're thinking, but could you possibly have a lower opinion of Jobaba anyway?) Edited October 9, 2012 by a LoveShack.org Moderator

Zed
Have you never consumed Asian cinema and celebrity outlets, outside of America, to see that there are loads of powerfully masculine and desirable Asian men in various Asian countries that are with women who would make a lot of guys with even mild yellow fever wild with envy. Take Leehom Wang. He is Asian American--born in Rochester New York. He was smart enough to realize that his fortune was in Asia, and he is a wildly successful singer, songwriter, actor and fledling director in Asia (I know Asia includes disparate countries and cultures). Ang Lee is another good example. He was born in Taiwan but he is successful in Asia and America. Donnie Yen is another one--have you seen his wife who appears to be almost a foot taller than he is. Another stereotype of the dimunitive asian guy shot down. Why do you need to search out validation from Western Media to be seen acceptable. You say you are a musician. Have you ever thought of considering venues outside of America espcially since your style is unusual--jazz is really popular in places like Japan. Black people are usually seen as other, but they did not wait around for acceptance, they (black men) created media and art forms and now they are often imitated and emulated by legions.
CptObvious
I don't understand how this is progress for your race Keni beat the 1/1,000,000,000,000,000 odds Lin beat the 1/10,000,0000,000,000 odds ching chong or whatever beat the 1/1,000,000,000 odds OP, you didn't beat the odds, and you don't really gain anything personally from this. Stereotypes will remain the way they are, with a handful of exceptions, so don't get your hopes up. Good for keni though, I'm happy for him.
