Shooting Pakistani girls

Recommended Posts

BetheButterfly

I am crying right now. I can't believe this. I can't understand why people would shoot beautiful, intelligent little girls who are getting an education.

This girl Malala Yousafzai and two others were shot by the Taliban for the "crime" of getting an education in Pakistan.

They need prayer. Please pray for them. Please do whatever possible to help them. I don't understand why Pakistan does not care for or help their girls. They need help. They need an education. They need protection from people who would hurt them.

Please see this video,

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/10/world/asia/teen-school-activist-malala-yousafzai-survives-hit-by-pakistani-taliban.html?_r=0

If there's anyway you can help, please help... I hope the US government puts pressure on Pakistan to protect their girls!!! :( Please write your Senators and Representatives and ask them to help the girls and women in Pakistan. They need help. I am so glad that girls and women in the USA freely go to school. Please pray for girls in Pakistan and do what you can to help them!

Sorry for ranting. :( It really hurts me how these girls are hurting. They deserve a quality education and protection. They don't deserve to be shot for going to school oh God what in the world? Why can people do that? Kill girls just for going to school??? :(

Oh God... :(

We need to do something. We need to help save these girls from the evil senseless violence against them. :(

This is beyond sad. I have not caught up with news on whether Malala is alive still. I place the problem firmly within it being totally a male dominated society in those parts of the world. Whatever we do we must always make sure that men don't get to run everything... especially regarding the rights of women, religious or not. People can be dodgy enough but none so much as when men get together to shape the world.

The attack on that child is all about securing future uneducated wives. That's all I have to say. Makes me sick to my stomach.

There will be many services working in those regions. Malala was so very brave to speak out.

Take care,

Eve x

Yes I heard it on the news. You might also recall that a little Christian girl with Down syndrome was locked up for a while on trumped up charges based on false allegations by a local imam: Pakistani Christian Girl Arrested for Blashpemy for Allegedly Burning Koran | Video | TheBlaze.com

This is what organised religion does to your society unfortunately. It's not that long ago that we used to do the same thing ourselves.

the only pressure the us government is putting on Pakistan is bombing them.

Yes she is such a brave girl! :) I think she is in stable condition, according to BBC News - Malala Yousafzai: Pakistan bullet surgery 'successful'

Thank God!!! :) The doctors and nurses do what they can with the knowledge they have and they are most definitely to be thanked as well!!! :)

Please continue to pray for another girl who is in critical condition who was shot along with her. Thank God that the other girl, the third girl, was not "seriously hurt."

I still don't understand why the US government gives money to other nations for war. ? :(

I understand giving money for education and for helping the poor peoples' lives to get better, but not money for war! :(

Wrong.

You may think it is wrong, but for those who have experienced God answering prayers, it is right. It is obvious however that you have not experienced God.

Right.

They need action; somebody to get off their arses and actually do something, not wishful thinking.

I don't know when was the last time or if you've ever prayed, but prayer is not wishful thinking. It's actually work; it's actually using time you could be doing something else to beg God for someone else.

It is true however that one should not ONLY pray. Prayer plus action is needed. I would not be surprised if the doctors that are working on saving the lives of the girls were praying as well as their families. Medical experts can only do so much with the knowledge they have.

People can do both, pray and act. What is important though is to pray and act for the good of people, animals, and the earth.

I agree with everything else you said.

because they are only interested in what's beneficial to them, what gives them more power, money, control. they dont care about the millions of poeple who suffer as a result. whether directly or indirectly. they have committed countless crimes against humanity.

Sweetheart, don't you know that this is where most of your taxes go? To support the military machine?

And it's all money, profit, and fear-mongering, The highest bidder and most lucrative recipient gets the goods.

Why do you suppose there's still fighting going on in the Middle East - and the rest of the world stands by helpless? because some super-powers are giving and selling, those 'bad guys', guns and arms. It's all political supremacy.

China and Russia are reluctant to climb onto the 'let's stop this now!' bandwagon - because they're the ones supplying arms, in this case. but other countries have been just as guilty and the USA is a major player in this.

And the taxpayer - that's you - foots the bill.

Just like I do, in the UK.

I "liked" this because it is sadly true I fear, not because I like that it happens. :(

Hello TaraMaiden,

I have learned that and I absolutely hate that... and I love my country. I'm very patriotic. I hate killing though no matter who is killed and no matter their nationality, ethnicity, and any other difference.

:( I think I might someday like to try to run for a political office in order to try to make a difference, to try to change for the better my country.

What I find both disgusting and repulsive is that, in these so-called democracies, we are not permitted to specify where we want our taxes to go. The government decides where our money should be spent. If we could decide, the military would topple overnight, and child care, health, and public safety services would benefit.

But they lie desperate for funds, donations and hand-outs - while the military just keeps on killing.

Right.

They need action; somebody to get off their arses and actually do something, not wishful thinking.

I just also wanted to point out real quick that many people who believe in God actively do things as well as pray. For example, the Red Cross and many medical institutions were started by people who believed in God and who prayed as well as helped with the knowledge they had.

Many people who pray also help in other ways how they can.

I agree with everything else you said.

Thanks. That is one thing that is important, that people of different thoughts/beliefs can join together to help those in need. :) That makes the world a better place!!!

oh they didnt give pakistan money for war, it wasnt pakistans war. because pakistan was the u.s's allies. they paid pakistan to train al-qaeda, taliban, mujahideens, they even worked hand in hand with bin laden himself. during the cold war. all because they wanted to beat the soviet-union, at the time they had invaded Afghanistan. but they us couldn't go and fight them out them selves, so they used terrorist to fight the communists. terrorism is a product of the cold war.

Don't.

Don't even think about it.

You're too kind, sweet, innocent, altruistic and benevolent.

The Political machine will chew you up and spit you out, and absolutely ruin you.

Again, I "liked" because I am afraid that is true, though I don't like the content. :(

However, the government is powerful. They don't want to not be in control of the world. :( So, just asking them nicely to stop being bullies is not to make them stop. Really, I think the only thing we can do that we all agree on is to strive to make our voices heard, protesting to end military aggression and weapon sales, and instead to promote education and sales of books that can help motivate people to live in peace and mutual respect.

Thank you Tara Maiden  I appreciate it. :)

If kind, sweet, innocent, altruistic, and benevolent men and women don't run for office though, then what can we do to help? I already pray. I already help how I can. I'd like to do more though to help my country be a wonderful country, and to help other people no matter where they live.

I still don't understand why the Cold War even happened in the first place. What motivates countries to want to attack and conquer each other? Greed? Lust? Desire to use what another country has? Why do countries get a "I want to be an Empire" complex? Why can't governments just be happy with their own soil and not go invade others???

i think the cold war happend because communism started to spread out very fast around the world after the 2nd world war. and because its core ideology was a threat to the capitalist west. basically money (greed). to ensure the survival of capitalism they had to defeat the soviet union, but both the states and the union where to powerful to go to actual war, but in the middle of both of their quests for power many people/the world, suffered greatly. i think***

The US does not given two-poops about a single soul on this Earth. We play sides when it's convenient for our interests, and the interests of the few that pull the strings. This isn't anything new.

I'm not surprised in the least.

This sort of things, not necessarily a lil-girl getting shot-but atrocious nonetheless.

-Acid thrown on the faces of school girls..

-Honor Killings.. google that with "UK" 100 of missing young girls EVERY year.

I'm not sure why anyone Christian is surprised, you share deities.

Women, are second class citizens even in modern Christianity.

There are people in the US who do care about others. However, I am sad to agree with you that it seems the government has issues. I do not think though that presidents or people in Congress are heartless...

Many Christians would disagree with you concerning sharing deities. Regardless, many Christians have through the past to the present tried to rescue girls in India and around the world from horrible fates.

Excuse me, but I am a "modern" Christian woman and have never ever considered myself a "second class citizen" to anyone, nor do I consider anyone (no matter their beliefs, ethnicity, nationality, social status, sexual lifestyle, gender, worldview) to be a second class citizen to me!

By the way, I looked up Jesus and Horus and posted about it here in this section, if you'd like to read a modern Christian woman's viewpoint on the subject.

i dont usually like being rude to people because of their faith. but your need to realise that Christian are no better than anyone else. the so called good work they do around the world. isnt selfless sacrifice. they do with the intention of converting people i.e. enforcing their own believes on others. and securing a place for themselves in "heaven"

also, maybe Christian should start helping them selves. other saving "victims" from the "bad" other religious/atheists. maybe you should do some charity work for victims of paedophilia within the church.

I never said that Christians are better than anyone else. However, I have stated the fact (and you can research it) that Christians have most definitely tried and do try to help rescue people, including girls who have had acids thrown in their faces and who have are in danger of honor killings. If you need help researching it, I will help.

Nobody who does good work does it for "selfless sacrifice." Many Atheists who do good work do it in order to "give back" or to feel good about themselves by helping others. That's not a bad thing.

As for intending to convert people, if you believed that people would go to an eternal fiery chamber if they didn't believe what you believed, it would seem incredibly selfish to not try to convert them, hmm? Because of this, I don't mind when my Muslim friends try to "revert" me to Islam. Why? Because they believe I'm on a path to hell for not being Muslim. Do I agree with them? Nope. However, I understand that their concern is because they care for me and truly believe what they believe. Now, I honestly don't know what I think of hell, and because of that, I don't try to convert people. I am very happy with diversity of beliefs and freedom of religion.

also, maybe Christian should start helping them selves. other saving "victims" from the "bad" other religious/atheists. maybe you should do some charity work for victims of paedophilia within the church.

I do. Thank you. My church, a Calvary Chapel church, strives to help many people, including people who are trafficked both in the USA and abroad, as well as Christians suffering from abuse. We also help the poor as much as we can.

What about you? Even if you don't go to church, what do you do to help those in your country who are suffering?

your religion or your background should not be a factor when it comes humanitarian work. honer killings, acid attacks, also happen within Christian communities. stop crediting them as "Christians" who do good!
