The government gives tax breaks to corporations which hire a certain number of ethnic minorities.

Regardless of whether they are qualified for the job?

Yes. That is why there is so many problems with our infrastructure; unqualified people doing what they don't understand.

I was beyond stunned after I said...."I have no experience in this position" that they still interviewed me.

Unbelievable

That is pretty boneheaded on their part. If they did hire for that position, I sure as hell hope they would train you!

He never said anything about training just what my monthly quota would be for the 3 months

Sales Job which has always been a "Sink or Swim" type of position.

It's a sales job with a non-profit agency? What do you have to sell?

Things might have been different because living under someone else's roof would probably disturb the routine/rut you seem to have got into which could be a good thing. If you are as you've said in your late 30s you've been living alone for a number of years. Seems you don't have much of a social life and that you're pretty darn stuck in your ways. The money you could have put away could make a big difference in your life and the change of lifestyle motivation enough to do more than sit in front of the computer filling out online applications.

I guess if you don't find a job by the time your unemployment runs out that answers my previous question and at least you have somewhere to live if you get kicked out for not paying rent. Do you have a lease on the place you're living at now? That could get sticky.

You're right, you can't make someone hire you but if even a hint of the attitude you're showing on this thread comes across to employers there's a big line of applicants behind you to fill the spot who don't have it.

I got the job:D

Congrats on your new job. Do you have a placement quota? What type of financial incentive are the employers offered?

I'm not a Job developer I;m a Job Counselor who assist the Job Developer with Job leads.

And the Job Developer at this place doesn't have a quota she basically provides the Center with Job ads for the clients to look through called a Job Order book.

Her job is actually more intriguing and i hope to have it one day

Yes, someone already mentioned it a couple of days back. How long is the probation period?

Hope it works out for you. Keep your nose clean, don't be ruffling feathers and just do your job.

90 days but my personal goal is 180 days.

Why would you want a longer probation period? Is it a union job?

No I was saying I want to still be there after 180 not a longer probation period.

Hopefully you'll be there for many years, and not just 180 days. Do you like the job?
