Can you fall back in love?

Is it possible to fall back in love with your spouse... especially if you don't have anything in common and your on different levels emtionally and intelletually? I personally don't think so.

I've fallen out of love with my husband (see "Wanting a divorce but can't move forward with it" for the full story). He thinks I just need to work harder on our marriage which to him means we should go out and spend more time together. I've already spent 12 years of my life with him... I don't think I'll learn (or feel) anything different about him by spending time away from home.

So, unless someone knows about a magic potion or pill that will make me fall back in love with him again... I'm planning to take the plunge into divorce by renting an apartment on Friday. Wish me luck!?

I heard that everything is possible if you give it a try. But I know what you're feeling, I'm asking myself that same question, and I am sad for your relationship going amok but you have to take care of you.

We've tried the <removed> and love buster stuff it was uncomfortable and not *real*. I don't know whether to read Dr. Phil Relationship Rescue or Too Bad to Stay too good to leave........

Whatever you do. It takes a wealth of strength and courage to stand up against the rest of them, I applaude you. You are doing exactly what I'm only thinking :)

Good luck ~

I loved my ex husband alot but emotionally - he was totally empty. I begged for him to connect with me emotionally - he wouldn't. I divorced him and although it was sad and difficult to go thru - I had to do it. I felt my husband withheld his emotional bond with me on purpose - by opening up to me and being himself would give away his power.

Therefore he remained self absorbed and selfish. I lost respect and trust for him and had to leave. There are men who are willing to give women what they want. You've just got to let go of your unhealthy relationships/marriages and move on to find someone more suitable for you.

Life is too short to settle. Good luck.

Divorce isn't hard - making the decision to do it is the hardest part.

I don't know about falling back in love. I think you of all people can fall forward. Thats your magic pill. You search and search. You made a goal! This paints a picture and now you think you know what you want but? What I see is different. I give you respect for the desire to repair your marriage before you move on. You are set in your ways but you don't see the way as clear as you need. You need to be happy! I would think of all the things that make you unhappy. They all must be related to your husband! I would say everything else is perfect or is it. Soul search. You and your husband must be happy inside before you can be happy as one.
