Sugarkane
My other relatives my age have kids out of wedlock. I envy them as if this happened to me I would have to listen to how I ruined the family name, in my dads words. I doubt i would ever hear the end of it either. Even though we only see his family once a year. The kids get baby sat my their grandparents/my aunts. My parents would never do that if it was me.
pink_sugar
You aren't the only one. Look at it this way though, in a way I am glad my parents were tough on me about not having babies young and out of wedlock. Otherwise I could have been 19 and pregnant too! I understand and feel your envy for other families though. I haven't gotten any emotional or financial support since I turned 18 and I could never imagine having children as we'd be stuck all on our own. We are better off though, because even with parental support, your life is forever changed if you have kids so young. There's no going back.
Daniel V. Ross
You can have your own family soon. But it is important to make sure that your family is intact and love is always there.

turnera
Sorry, too many posters to remember everyone's ages.
turnera
I think you're at the age where you will start (hopefully) to realize that your parents are just human and fallible. And then you grieve for what you didn't get. Go through the Stages of Grief. And then chart your own course despite them.

Author Sugarkane
I really think their parenting style would be better suited to rebellious, out of control teens or something.

Author Sugarkane
Sugar, It means you are better then them. Some times parents say don't do this but do that as a means of control or cause they actually care. I don't know enough of your parents. But I wouldn't want you to have children cause I know your future is much brighter then your relatives. Keep fighting. Can you please explain more?
