I figure the sun's about to rise and set again. Or maybe the earth will stop spinning. Is it Armageddon?

Thanks Blockhead, for you post. It seems nearly a phallacy that God allows sin to enter into a person's life when it is his professed anthesis. However, who can know the mind of God? I'm not sure that I'd even want to try.

Sin and pain can strengthen faith, and lead us closer to the glory of God, and a semblance of perfection.

I'm not saying that anyone can ever reach perfection, though I have met some people who would beg to differ with me. :p

It's nice to have a discussion with everyone on what they think about God, and get so many ideas.

Thanks for looking at my questions and answering them in such detail. They've really been helpful to me.

One last picture to paint, remember when your Grandmother used to make quilts? When she was close to being done, the underside looked un organized,..... threads hanging down,.... no clear pattern.... you couldn't make out what she was trying to do. But on the top, it was beautiful, full of color and patterns that were uniformed and flawless.

We see the underside of what God sees. To us it's all confusing and we can't make heads or tails of it. God sees the whole picture, the beautiful end result of what's to be.

Great analogy! Thanks! Thinking in this context makes some of the other people's arguments make more sense.

Yeah, you are right----I remember now. But my view still stands. Crap happened to Job no matter who threw it or who allowed it! :) God still won the bet. :D

I'm agnostic, but I'm pretty comfortable in my understanding of Christian faith and worship. I used to be one. ;)

Ever see Steven Kings Storm of the Century? He said Job asked God why so many things happened to him when he was such a faithful servant and God said "Well Job - there's something about you that just pisses me off"

I mean that as comic relief- but there's some truth in there also. We were made in God's image and all of us have met someone who for no reason rubs us wrong. They could be the nicest guy ever- but you just can't warm up to them.
