meeji
I had matching rings ordered for me and my bf. We have matching yin/yang dogtags with each other's names on them already. His is black and green and mine is black and red. I went with the black rings so there wouldn't be confusion about whether or not it was supposed to be an engagement ring. My initial idea was the have the engraving on the rings match our tags, so I erdered. Black stainless steel bands with yin/yang engraved int the colors that matched our tags. When they got there: 1. The font looked super girly, which is ok for mine but not okay for him. I don't think most guys would appreciate that 2. The colorfill looked awful! The seller told me she was having problems getting the colors to show up. Her shop has been open for a while so was...this the first time she came across this issue? Most people can tell you off the bat if something won't work, if they have experience. the ring itself looks nice and a decent weight but with the crap engraving, they looked plastic to me. As soon as she said it was causing problems, I told her to just do them both in silver and forget the color, well she didn't. I contacted the sellerand told her I wasn't happy but I'm going to his country in 5 days! She said she would remake them. I got silver rings with black lettering and I'm happy with those. I also have the engraving touched up in silver, on the black rings and it doesn't look so terrible. He's not very picky. So, I got to keep both sets of rings and need suggestions. Should I give him one and keep the other secretly as a backup? Do I give him both and let him choose the one he likes better? Do I give him both to do whatever he wants with the one he doesn't want? Halp!
TMichaels
Use the set you're happy with and sell the other one on eBay. Best, TMichaels
Author meeji
That is a good idea. I'm not sure it would work though only because not only would I have to find someone into daoism but also with super small hands. In this case, a custom item like that would be hard to find a perfect match, I think anyway. I could always try. I would only be eating whatever it cost to list if I don't sell. Any other ideas? CC12
Your OP was a little confusing. You didn't like the first thing the seller sent you, so you told the seller you were unhappy, and the seller rushed a new set of rings to you? And you're happy with the new set, yes? If I've got that right, then I think you should ship the original (wrong) set back to the seller. You paid for one set of rings. Send back anything you didn't pay for. Author meeji
You understood me correctly. The shipper told me to keep it because there is nothing she can do with them since they've been engraved already. Just like I replied to tmichaels, its hard to re-sell something like that. It just seems wastefull to me to throw them away, that's all.
pettie
In that case, maybe you can try to use them to create something else? a pair of necklaces, a 3D decoration in a card, or something like that. Something that doesn't require the rings to be actually put the rings in your fingers. I think there is (almost) always a way to re-use things Good luck and enjoy your visit ! carhill
IMO, a necklace or charm bracelet idea could be a good utilization. Whatever the choice, my vote is for transparency.

Grr, error highlighted and corrected - It won't let me edit anymore. That's what happens when you have a doggy playing around and distracting you!
Author meeji
Thanks guys! I'm about recycling things. Since we have necklaces already, I'll try to think of something else that I can make out of them. I appreciate the suggestions Any crafters know of awesome projects involving rings? This could be fun
