Evidence that the strike is working

2 or 3 years ago, when I posted a few ads now and then on CL, maybe my ad would get 1 or 2 replies over a couple of months. (Of course, if I put up a fake post as a woman, with a stolen photo, replies from men were piling into my inbox every 5 minutes.)

 

But something is definitely going on because if I run an ad as a man on CL now, I'll get at least half a dozen replies from women (even though most of them come with links to porn/hookup sites).

 

Now, as an openly asexual straight male, I can only speak for myself... but judging from the fact that women are starting to reply more often to male ads, shows me that the Strike is starting to work. It's nowhere near Japan's "grass eaters" movement (from what I can gather, 30% of Japanese twentysomething men aren't interested in women or sex, and Japanese women are trying to cover up being desperate by accusing the men of failing at life and being wimps), but whether some people like it or not, it is happening.

 

Any man can post an ad on CL and get the evidence himself.

 

Some people will tell you that women have all the power when it comes to attracting men... but that's only true of desperate men who need a sex fix and will try to get it from anything that has 2 X chromosomes. Like it or not, men have the power to decide whether to pursue a woman or not.

 

In my observation, most of the women available to me, fail to impress me enough to make me want to pursue them. They just don't have good personalities.

 

I'm actually kind of dreading becoming a speed dating event host... because sure, earning >$1K a night is great, but unfortunately another guy who has done it tells me I'll be in a position where all kinds of women will be hitting on me. Already I know I'm going to have to turn almost all of them down flat, so that new job will be a mixed blessing.
