I am a 25 year old virgin

Recommended Posts

I'm a 25 (soon to be 26) AM who has never had sex. I just can't seem to find the right girl to ask out. I have no major confidence issues, I've been told I'm attractive, I have a great job that pays well. But I'm getting older and I'm just thinking if I should lower my standards and just get it over with.

I think its good that your waiting for the right person. You shouldnt give up and waste something as special as this, on someone you do not feel strongly about. With patience the right person will come around :) Just because most people these days lose their virginitys at a young age, doesnt mean you have to do the same.

its not that big of a deal. In fact when you have sex the first time i bet you'll think- thats is? Its fun yeah but don't worry too much. You'll did a girl that will think its awesome you're a virgin. Some of the best sex of my life was with a 21 year old virgin.

It's only as special as you make it, whether it's the 1st or the 50 millionth. I say get on the bike as soon as possible, the cuteness of virginity isn't as practical as the experience most women need/want. And for yourself, you will live a healthier more well-rounded life being sexually active. It might even slightly change you for the better, sex can do that.

The right girl in your situation is one who will say "yes."

Don't EVER lower your standards. I lost my virginity when I was 22. I no longer with her but at the time she was the right person. A good friend when I was 18 said "I want to do it with a hooker" and I snapped him out of it, he is thankful to this day of my advice.

The same applies to dating and people you associate with. I am infortunelty single at the age of 31 but I refuse to lower my standards and settle. My grandfather said "it's better to be alone than hang out with scum".

Hard words but they are true. Stay true to yourself and the right person will come into your path.

Sex for the sake of sex is over-rated. Don't lower your standards at all (assuming you're standards don't exclude 99.9% of women on earth).

Oh and I know you didn't mention this, but if any girl ever pokes fun or won't go out with you because of your virginity, she's either basing her reaction on what she hears other people say or she's shallow and ignorant and may think sex is the definition of a relationship, which means she'll probably have some baggage....probably dirty baggage....lol.

Thank you for the replies they have given me something to think about.

I do have some confidence issues, nothing severe as to make me an incoherent mess in front of women, but it is there.

I do think the places I go to meet girls are not the right places though because I attract the wrong type of girl(sorry in advance if that is offensive), clubs and bars are wrong for me.

My standards only exclude 60% of the women I meet, so I will stick by them for 1 more year then if I am still a virgin I am going to just go all in.

please define your statement "go all in" are you putting a time limit on your virginity. Then maybe you have to evaluate why you feel your virginity is important to you and what you believe in....please explain......deb

its just one of those things that most men want to just be done with. For most women its a treasure. But i suppose once you get to a certain point and you haven't lost it you just want to get it over with.

I wanted to wait till i was married. Then i met my first and only true love. He didn't want to take my virginity. So i convinced him. I wanted it to be him. I've never regretted my choice either. I was 17. Which was older for some girls.

I don't think you should change your standards if you're willing to wait.

Not to 99% of people with IQs under 100 it isn't!!! :lmao:

You guys heard the OP. No more getting it on with female farm animals!!! (and you know who you are)

Shame on you for pointing out the 600-lb gorilla in the living room.

Sister, I can wait until the day after forever. There are some real things I want to accomplish with my life, and winning some imaginary gold trophy cup to put on my shelf for screwing the most women doesn't even make the list.

Yes I am. Last night I was having dinner with an old friend (one of the few who know I am a virgin). She told me about her relationships and that I was being silly with how I view sex. She made me feel like such a fool.

My attitude towards sex developed from when I was in college, at a bar after exams I was approached by a girl. She was really pretty but in honesty the who situation felt wrong to me. It was if romance was an afterthought to satisfying a person's lust. I don't need to wait until marriage for sex, I don't mind if my partner has more exp than me I can learn, she doesnt have to be really pretty. I just want to strike up a conversation with a girl and be surprised.

But the tough thing is, as time goes on I feel that my ideals are simply the immature thoughts of a naive virgin.

op wants the romance first. Not the sex. He's prepared to wait. So if i was him i would start working overtime and strike up with plenty of women. Weed out the ones you're not interested in. Thats the only way to do this thing.

he is behaving the way most women do about losing their virginties. Which in and of its self is not a negative. He's obviously not out to simply get is stick wet. Thats fine. But giving him advice which doesn't fit his desires isn't helping.

Personally if i were a man i'd be more promiscuous. But i am not. I ate to have feelings of caring sprinkled into my sex mix. Which is not the easy route. At. All.

But it is the route the op is taking. So god speed op and i hope you strike a balance between looking for ms. Right and miss right now.

There is nothing whatsoever special about your first time. In fact, since it is your first time, it will actually be less satisfying to you than most masturbation sessions. You will feel insecure, awkward and probably more than a little shy.

Instead, think of it as the first step towards becoming a master of an entire new area of knowledge - that of a partner's body, the human nervous system and the human mind.

Sleep with whoever you want. That way, when you meet that person you know you want to spend a good chunk of your life with, you get to start with some experience.

I'm sorry. I lost it at age 16 which is late by current standards. I've been with girls who are MORE experienced than me & those who are LESS experienced. I'd rather sleep with someone who knows what they're doing. There is NO substitute for real life experience, especially in this realm. Go have a little FUN with the girls in bed & when the right girl does come along, you'll be that much better at pleasing her & hopefully she'll be able do the same.
