SayonaraItsuka
It pains me when my ex's parents say that they miss me. I was her first boyfriend that they welcomed with open arms. They actually treated me like I was their own. I formed a really good relationship with them, and now it's gone. Even the rest of her family approved of me. Anybody else gone through a similar situation?

iris219
I'm the girl you take home to mama. Parents love me. My most recent ex's mom and I had a good relationship. I know she had hoped our relationship would work. She used to tell him he needed to be nicer to me. Too bad he didn't listen! We still talk over FB every now and then. I was close to the parents of my ex before that as well. We broke up 7 years ago, but his dad and I periodically email and he last month he helped me out with something. When I thanked him for his help he said, "No problem, you're like family." I got teary eyed. I know he wishes his son and I were back together. Break-ups are even harder when you love someone's family and will lose that relationship in addition to the one with your SO. Edited October 28, 2012 by iris219
amaysngrace
Yea. I ran into my exBF's mom and she put herself into my phone and called herself "McMom". They're Irish.
Author SayonaraItsuka
I myself get a little teary eyed when it's not even something big, like the "we miss you" thing. I was going to visit her family over the summer out of the country. She was excited, I was excited, and her family was excited. And I remember my ex told me that her mom said, "Aw, he's not here to finish the food." (as I always loved her mom's cooking and ate a whole bunch). That hurt a lot, too. amaysngrace
It's good to have people in your corner cheering you on. It should make you happy, not sad.
Author SayonaraItsuka
It does make me happy, but it hurts, because I can't experience it anymore. And I may not have been that Asian doctor boyfriend her parents were looking for, but they loved me anyway.

Author SayonaraItsuka
I guess it was the way we handled our relationship. It became pretty routine. I wasn't complaining, but she always wanted to do something new, but there isn't a lot to do where we live. And we had some communication issues. On top of that, she left me for her coworker that she's only known for almost three months.

Author SayonaraItsuka
Yeah, man. It's really surprising to learn that this kind of breakup happens more often than not. It's just that I'm afraid that this guy is just more suited for her and I can't do anything about it.
