Don't Want People To Delude Me

Recommended Posts

uhm i'm an inch taller than you and maybe 1 kilo less. So no. You're not fat. You're normal. But your diet is ****. A burger is animal fat. Cheese on top is more fat. Fries are fried fat. Chocolate cake is sugar and fat.

I had a friend like you who was so obsessed with her weight she stopped eating completely. One day she passed out, and went to the hospital where they made her check herself into a clinic.

People are not lying to you. You are lying to yourself to perpetuate this self hatred you have for some reason. You know women are supposed to have curves right. Its healthy and natural. Its not healthy to have your spine sticking out of your back.

Do yourself a favor and start actually eating healthy. Fruit for breakfast, vegis for lunch, and a lean meat like grilled chicken or shrimp for dinner along with rice and vegis. You'll feel better. I promise.

I just don't get how being fat or not comes up in a casual conversation

Well, it usually comes up because one of my friends makes some comment about what a "porker" she is, or how she totally shouldn't be eating this because she already needs to lose weight. It also came up a LOT in my Burlesque classes, because taking off your clothes in front of people kinda tends to awaken the critical eye.

I think it also comes up because I'm constantly worrying about it. When I was anxious/skinny, I barely thought about what I was eating. But once I turn fat, I'm obsessed with food.... I'm always hungry, but always weighing in my head if I can eat this, versus that. If I can have this, because I haven't eaten that yet today, but I had 200 calories extra yesterday. And man, I really want some almonds, but I can only have 1/4 cup to stay within target, so how many is that?...

Cooking becomes a lot more of a chore. I can no longer just throw together a sandwich. I can't even go out to eat anymore without agonizing about what I can have... For example, a friend invited me along to dinner to Noodles and Co, but I can have literally nothing on their menu. (Pasta = all carbs.) So I have to either back out of dinner, eat afterwards, or eat something I find disgusting (I hate Caesar salads for example.)

When all you're thinking about is food, it tends to spill out of your mouth.

Eternal Sunshine

It's likely that when you were anxious, your appetite was lower too. When I am stressed at work, I can easily forget to eat and maybe eat 1 meal a day. Even if that meal is all junk, it's likely still under my calorie allowance. I usually lose 10lbs in less than 2 weeks during those periods, not even trying. Just my mind is off food.

Now, I also think like you do and weight is creeping up. So I understand that. I ending throwing up all night from drinking too much at a party recently and I was happy to be 4 lbs lighter, even though I felt like s.... How messed up is that?

Unlike you, I am terrified of people calling me fat so I never bring up my body/food to anyone. My mother still comments though

About 2 months ago, I started a heavy weight program/resistance training. My body is starting to look and feel different. Tighter, stronger. My muffin top in my jeans is gone. I still don't weigh much less, but I am happy with the results so far. Plus, building muscle is supposed to increase your metabolic rate, so you burn more at rest. I barely do cardio though, I just dislike it.

  • 2 weeks later...

V,

I went from 110 lbs to 134 lbs from when I first met my partner.

He said he liked my body better when I was slimmer, about 120 lbs he prefers.

I could not have cared less, because he is still just as attracted to me as a whole; he just liked the way my body looked a tiny, tiny TINY bit better, when I was fitter, eating better, and leaner.

And you cannot lose weight for one of two reasons:

- you have a hormonal issue

- or, you simply have a thick body type, that does not allow you to ever be slender.

- OR, you are not counting your calories correctly. But I HIGHLY DOUBT THIS.

I just think you need to determine the difference between body TYPES and FATNESS.

Some body TYPES dictate that your thick or portly looking. It is not being fat, if you work out and eat right you should be a fit version of a thick body type.

A fat version of your body type would be fat, my dear...

But you're not fat. I plugged your ht/wt into a bmi calculator. You are in the healthy range. Meaning I bet you are a lot more attractive than you think.

You can do it for yourself here.

I've seen photos of her, she isn't fat, she is curvy - as in the original meaning of wider hips, bigger boobs and small waist.

I think V you would benefit from finding some voluntering role that would get you mix with much less fortunate people than yourself to take the unhealthy focus off for a while. Maybe you could work at a soup kitchen for the homeless or help out in some other way but I think you need to get a perspective on what REAL issues people have to deal with every day to snap you out of this. Get away from the keyboard, go out and help people out for a while.

Sometimes the best solution to negative thinking is to push it to the back of your mind for a while until you grow more as a person and find a healthier/more productive way to deal with it.

I can assure that no-one is as interested in your weight 'issues' as you are. Not another person on planet earth is even close to be as concerned

If you truly wanted to accept yourself as fat then you would just do it and not make a topic on a discussion board.

Otherwise, you simply need to lose the weight.

Clearly you weren't exercising properly if you claim you gained weight. Either that or you were eating tonnes of rubbish.

Eating few calories a day means nothing if those calories are from garbage food.
