GirlontheLam
not weird at all...You don't think he with the way he looks and his charm could get with her in real life? I think he could quite easily. The reason more older guys don't end up with younger girls is lack of proximity to them...ie c'mon- when they're sitting beside you in college?? Somewhere in the middle of the thread there was some debate on whether or not 10+ age gaps were common in Hollywood, and portrayed as normal and expected. This is another example of the whole thing. Cooper is pretty much the polar opposite of my type, and he is one of the very short list of blond white guys I find attractive. I think in real life, as he seems to be a charmer, he could get younger women. The issue I really have is related to the fact that it is considered almost normal for older ment to prey on women in their early 20s.
ascendotum
Oh time for another ridiculous hollywood example. The new movie with Bradley Cooper (37) and Jennifer Lawrence (22) in a relationship in Silver Linings. Yup totally normal in Holly-weird. When it comes to the masses yep somewhat distorted for real life, but normal for hollywood on the silver screen and also behind it. It would not surprise if Brad was single that would be dating a girl early 20s if he so chose, given the allure of celebrity. This thread went as expected. OP got associated with high school girl and the her love interest got associated with creepy old guy who is going to manipulate & ruin her.

The term 'prey' is conveniently misused to try to discourage guys from trying to seduce girls. It's preying if she has no say in how it goes down ie he drugs her drink or waits til she's falling down drunk... But lemme tell you- a girl is very versed in shunning and can and will let you know if she is not interested. And it puts a stop to most all men's intentions real quick and effectively. Hate to say it, but when a girl (ok, I mean adult person that is, which is generally considered in the 20s and up) gets with any guy (of any age) , it's cuz she's aware of what's going on and is interested in him too.
