According to this, and quite a few other sites I have looked at, I am already just about my ideal weight — 135 pounds at 5'4". I just make it to 5'5", but decided not to "round up" my height. 130 is around the ideal weight, according to these resources. Odd, as I'm still quite unhappy with the inch I cannot lose off of my stomach. I'd like my thighs to be a little thinner in some areas as well, so I probably think I look my best at 125–130. Time to start walking again
Taken_Angel
You have an inch to lose? Not to sound critical but are you serious? An inch? You can actually see the difference in an inch??? If so sir I think you should focus more on what your lacking emotionally that makes you concentrate so hard on your physical "imperfections" But seriously 130 isn't a bad weight, for a woman I would say about 115-125 for 5'3 or so, just speaking personally. At 135 I felt a little "larger than normal" but that's just me.
faux
I work out and walk quite regularly. I'm very into exercise, and I eat healthy. I used to weigh 250 pounds a few years ago, and I take pride in being in good shape. I have never been able to lose this last inch from my body, however, no matter how hard I have tried. I think I can complain about it if I want to. And yes, an inch is clearly visible and it makes a difference. I was used to being top notch, then got bloated from meds. Now that I've lost all the weight, I just want this last inch to go away so I can see my abs
Taken_Angel
Ahh! I see...well then have you done lots of crunches? That always helps to bring out them abs of steel! Congrads on the weight loss!
honey2005
I have alot to lose, too:(
brashgal
Faux - are you sure that last inch isn't just loose skin? If you once weighed 250 lbs, your skin may never 'retract' to the point it was at before you gained the weight. It may take surgery (yes, men get tummy tucks too).
johan
Get a body density analysis to find out your body composition and fat percentage. 24 hour fitness does this all the time. Subtract your desired fat percentage from the actual. Multiply the difference times your body weight to figure how many pounds of actual fat you want to lose to get to your ideal weight. Multiply the number of pounds of fat you want to lose times 3500, to get how many calories you need to burn in excess of what you take in. Pay attention to your diet to monitor caloric intake. Estimate your base metabolism on some website somewhere that you search for. Or get an estimate out of a nutrition book. Excercise and estimate the calories burned during excercising. Add that to your base metabolism to get your total daily calories burned. Subtract the amount of calories you eat. Subtract the difference from the total number of fat calories you need to burn (end of first paragraph above). When that difference gets to zero, you should be there. Keep in mind that monitoring your weight will be misleading if you excercise enough to put on muscle. So lose the scale.
