cocorico
when you hear a noise downstairs. Do you go downstairs side by side with your husband like a couple, or does he go alone? If your thinking is, if there's someone down there with a gun or knife you'd rather it be him that gets shot or stabbed, as long as you're safe. Whoever is awake does it. zengirl
I seriously doubt my tall, strong hubby who won't let me carry the water at the grocery store because it's heavy would let me go in such a situation, but we are apartment-livers still so no stairs or far distance. The dog would yap but not actually do anything. I can shoot (well and way better than hubby - I'd be an asset in the Zombie apocalypse; my accuracy is awesome), but neither hubby or I want guns in the house really, especially now that we're in a less gun-friendly state. I'm not sure if Hubby would go either though. I imagine we'd call 911 if we really suspected something. And also some of the neighbors we know. Hubby might grab a baseball bat and go if he was feeling a surge of adrenaline and whatnot though. He's like that sometimes. If it wasn't in the moment, he'd definitely say, "Nobody goes. We call 911" but who knows. I'm totally capable of handling such a crisis on my own, though, and I've been in a house when it was broken into actually. We called neighborhood watch and the police and the watch came ASAP and chased them off. Not where I live now, luckily, back in my college days.
2sure
My dog..would alert, but that's it. It's just me and my 16 yo daughter...big old house. Lots of noises. Usually, if we both hear it...we each run from our rooms half naked and unarmed , and meet at the top of the bannister where we yell down the stairs n various degrees of hostility/fear/ disbelief: What the F is that?! OMG did you har that?? Who the F is down there?! Where is he F'g phone?? What the F is going on?! We need ore dogs. I have a GUN!! shut Up! Don't say that!!!!! Wait. I don't hear anything. What the F? OK. Go back to sleep. Happens like, twice a week. Once home alone, I literally found myself gong down the basement stairs with a flashlight. Really Big, Really old house. Yeah, I started laughing and said to myself...I'm that Idiot woman in all the movies!

2sure
I just read my whole post to my daughter, minus the missing letters. She said I forgot Clutching and Slapping each other. " you almost always slap me somewhere like it will end YOUR hysteria".
