BetheButterfly
Hello This question was made famous years ago and is one that helps encourage many Christians to think of others instead of being selfish. Jesus, a Jewish man who lived around 2,000 years ago in Israel, is considered the Messiah, the Son of God by his faithful followers. His chosen apostles and disciples who walked and talked with him told other people about what Jesus did and said, as well as what he promised that he will do. As a Christian, I am learning little by little to ask myself, "What would Jesus do?" It's a difficult thing to do because many times I'm very selfish and just want to do whatever pleases me. However, I learn the hard way that when I am selfish, that tends to hurt or not bless other people. I have sadly hurt people by NOT asking myself, "What would Jesus do?". Jesus did what he said. He didn't say one thing and do another. I am slowly learning that considering what Jesus would do, and what Jesus said, helps me bless those around me when I do them too. What do you think when you see someone doing what Jesus would do? Today I have been learning a lot concerning what Jesus said were the two most important commands: Matthew 22 "34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Mat 22 NIV - The Parable of the Wedding Banquet - Bible Gateway It is cool to me that most of what Jesus said and did revolves around Love. Why do you think that is?
skydiveaddict
Jesus had real mission to come to earth because he wanted to realize people about "love" and "worship". Actually, The entirety of His "mission" was to become and fulfill the old testament prophecy of the pascal lamb; the innocent and perfect sacrifice for the salvation and remittance of the sins of mankind. He accomplished this through His Passion and crucifixion. And so started the "new testament." Christ's bodily resurrection: The fulfillment of all of God's promises from the old testament.
