lynngv
I was doing some back and forth nogotiating today, about turned ugly.I had a couple customers bringing in guns to sell.I co own a gun shop with my parents selling new and used guns. The used guns, people bring them in on consignment to sell and they get a percentage or bring them in to sell to us.First one brought in 3 rifles and a shot gun, wanted full retail for them.I gave him an offer on all of them,a price on all of each of them and said no.I upped the offer still said no.This was the first time the guy was in.Finally told him I need "meat on the bone" for profit since they are going to be sold for resale. All of them were in good shape taken care very well. Then he agreed on my price. The second one,a woman brought in two hand guns to sell. She was the toughest also wanting full retail for them, this is the second time I negotiated with her on price.I also told her I need room for profit also, going to be resold. Finally agreed with my offer.I got lucky, none of them are not stolen and have encountered this before a few times. If something looks suspicious,I call the police and they run the numbers. My father saw the guns and he said good job,he knows I am a good salesperson knowing what I am doing.Sold one of the rifles right away making a profit on it. firemanq
You seem to know the product, what you need to make a profit and keep the doors open. Sounds like you know the trade. They sound like they do not know any of the above. You seem to take that type of customer personally, don't. Know that I have given you advice, I have the same problem.
