Her first PHONE CALL!

Last night... my 6 year old and i were sitting down going over HW and i receive this phone call from a number that i did not recognize. i picked it up and on the other end is this sqeaky little voice asking to please speak to sophia. and i was like ... and who is speaking? "Brandon."

 

My face Fell. my 6 year old daughter just received her first phone call from a boy! i gave her the phone and she immediatley got red. and ackwardly spoke to him. then she got super embarrassed and hung up and then started yelling..."HE IS JUST MY FRIEND MOMMMMY!"

 

i couldnt help but laugh in my room. a boy didnt call me until i was in highschool. i never even had a real boyfriend until highschool.

 

i mean im glad she knows my number by heart enought to give it out but isnt she a little to early to speak to boys on the phone? Am i doing something wrong here?

my bf is like "its not like their going to the movies alone in his car. they are little babies still!"

Im a little stunned at this. I didnt think i would have to deal with this until like 12.

 

I dont want to be like "hey no boys allowed to call until your 15." because i dont want her to rebel against me. i mean there is no harm in them speaking on the phone. i want to be a good well rounded parent.. but i dont want to give her the impression neither that i will let her do whatever she wants or that im okay with everything. i want her to be able to trust me.

 

Oh man... i hope im not one of those overly attached moms.

That's so sweet!!!! I did the same only the only number I knew was my Gran and Grandad's and gave that in error. I was 5 and they ribbed me something awful.

 

I had NO boyfriends until I was 14, just boys I was friends with, please don't worry
