havNfun
What creative suggestions do you all have about how a guy can propose?
honey2005
I'm standing outside and my boyfriend comes towards me, riding a big white horse. When he gets to me he leans down, hands me a rose and says "Will you marry me?" My boyfriend and I were talking about sweet ways to propose and that was his idea . There was a little more to it, but that's the gist. It seems pretty elaborate and unlikely, but still sweet . Any way you propose to someone will probably be thought of as sweet and romantic:). lioness
Please don't do it in public, or in a situation where the girl (or guy) may feel pressured to say yes. (For example: On the big screen at the big game - NOT a good idea. Or, on a group date - another BAD idea.) Some better ideas: A romantic, intimate dinner, followed up by a carriage ride through the city... cliche but nice and sweet. An unforgettable weekend at an exclusive (and of course, intimate) resort on the beach somewhere. Play all day in the ocean, then when you are all tan and relaxed, pop the question over a shared bottle of wine while watching the sunset. Of course, there is always the crazy gambling trip to Vegas, followed by a drunken proposal and shotgun wedding at an Elvis chapel.

lexnmike4enomore
Plane banners always work. I once saw in a magazine that this man was marrying a woman names holly so he stood in front of the hollywood sign and held up next to it you marry me. Perspective makes it look good, so it said Hollywood you marry me! I think thats cute. Go for a walk in the rain (umbrella optional) and propose as you hold each other close. Turn off the lights and cuddle up during a thunderstorm - propose as you see each other through the lightning flashes. Splash in the puddles and act like kids again. Tell her you found something in one of the puddles and present her with the ring. Have a bakery bake a cake with your proposal message inscribed on it, put it in the store window, and top it with her diamond. Take her on a walk and make a special stop in front of the window Put the ring in a box of Cracker Jacks for a big surprise.

soccorsilly
Make Her Your Leading Lady Arrange for a local movie theater to play a video tape of you before the feature, telling her how much she means to you and asking if she’ll marry you. In front of hundreds of adoring fans, present her with the diamond. The Fortune of a Lifetime Steam a fortune cookie until it’s malleable. Open the cookie, place the ring inside with a note telling her how she’ll be loved by you forever. Time Capsule of Love Make a box of “sort-of-real” mementos of all your best dates. For example, a swizzle stick, a movie stub, etc. At the bottom of the box place the engagement ring. Summer Lovin’ Take her for a long walk on the beach. With the help of a good friend, have a special area set up with flowers, champagne, a few pieces from a small orchestra and a proposal written in the sand. You can tuck the ring into your swim trunks to keep it a surprise (just don’t go for a dip before you pop the question). A Real Page Turner Scan the cover of a romance novel into your computer and superimpose your pictures. Cut out a hole in the book and put the diamond ring in it. Cosmic Commute Buy some ad space on signs on her route to work and on each one ask her if she’ll marry you. Be waiting for her in her parking space where she works with flowers, a ring and a good excuse for her to call in sick that day. Masterpiece of Romance Ask a local museum if they would put the ring on display with a display card reading that this was the very ring used by you on that particular day to ask her to be your bride. A Buried Treasure Take her snorkeling and discover the ring while the two of you are looking at the coral. It’s All in the Cards Bring her to get her tarot cards read. And ask the reader to include seeing a diamond ring in the cards. That would be your cue to present her with the ring.
DerangedAngel
I once saw in a magazine that this man was marrying a woman names holly so he stood in front of the hollywood sign and held up next to it you marry me. Perspective makes it look good, so it said Hollywood you marry me! If that was the one in, like, May's 'Glamour'... then she said no. But cute anyway. Make Her Your Leading Lady Arrange for a local movie theater to play a video tape of you before the feature, telling her how much she means to you and asking if she’ll marry you. In front of hundreds of adoring fans, present her with the diamond. I like this one. A lot. You could also see if it would be possible to arrange to get a late showing to yourselves or something. Like that commercial from back in the day. -Deranged
ladyangel
If you're in a place where it's feasible, book a hot air balloon ride and while you're up in the air, propose, give her the ring, and toast with champagne. Awesome!

soccorsilly
I cannot take credit for the ideas..... http://www.adiamondisforever.com is the culprit and there are some ideas there as well as some stories! But as I muddle through middle life, I do keep that in mind for when my times comes around again to take the plunge!
