Welson
Hi everyone, I'm new member here. The forum is really informative for me. Please come up with your useful suggestions.
tman666
Weight loss is best accomplished through consistent and challenging exercise in addition to establishing consistent healthy eating patterns. One shouldn't really consider their "diet" to be a short term concept. This can lead to what's known as "yo-yo" dieting, which will stall your progress and isn't particularly good for your body.
Greatshoes13
I've been on "diets" my whole life, and have thus been a yo-yo dieter for as long as I can remember. Nothing really just clicked with me until I realized (reluctantly , at the time) that I had to change my eating habits completely and that exercise and diet would be forever a part of my life. I can tell you that walking is awesome - I've always been a walker. An hour a day, 5-6 days a week, along with a healthy diet (watch your calories, they really do add up) has always been my way to lose weight Hope this helps!
ooglesnboogles
I've found that to jump start my day I do some living room exercises in the morning. I get up, stretch, then do some pushups, situps, squats, lunges, and every other day weights. It's not much, takes about 10-15 minutes since I'm usually still half asleep until the squats but I tend to feel a little more energized the rest of the day. I skip it once a week when I have a 1.5-2 hour cardio thing in the evening. I'll also note that I can only do a handful of normal pushups at the moment been doing bent-knee pushups for a while. For a big guy, I have very little upper body strength, but that's what the pushups are for I can do more every day and the weight is just falling off!
Esoteric Elf
It would depend on what your goals are. If you are for pure strength, lift as I do: heavy. If you can do the weight more than 8 reps, don't put it on unless you are warming up or cooling down. Lift weights upwards of 85% of your one-rep max with repetitions hovering around 3-6. I got large doing this weight, but kind of bulky without much toned muscle. I then started "toning"; that is, using lower weight with more repetitions (~10-15 repetitions) with less rest time in between sets. This got me more muscular, and here I sit today. Losing weight is one level lower. Use low weight with high (20+) repetitions with a maximum of half a minute rest in between sets. I don't do this, so feel free to ask anyone besides me for personal experience. All in all it depends on what you want. Where you put the work is where you get the gains. If you wish for me to be more specific on the formermost part of my post, I can elaborate. I have worked out with weights for about 7 or so years, and it has been a pleasure through and through. This is what I do, though I had no clue it was good for weight loss. I'm just too poor to buy new weights I guess I should have known, I think my doctor mentioned it.
