I also love the classic LadyGrey "asshat". I can't even remember how many times I have called him that in my own head after hearing her say it so many times. You can and you will get through this, and it will be better........You are much too smart and too kind to let this knock you down and you don't see it but you are in the home stretch. People leaving longterm marriages or relationships are not exactly on top of the world. They have a rollercoaster of emotions. They have guilt, fear, regret, anticipation, sadness,etc. They have nothing good to offer to anyone new until they have properly grieved and worked through the end of their last relationship. He wants you to be his soft landing, you to hold his hand and listen to his woes, you to be his shoulder to cry on and he thinks you should be happy to fill this role for him.
