AlexDP
I've been wondering about this for a while and I know that NASA has been releasing bulletins for this reason as well. If so many people are scared about 2012 and it only takes one idiot to cause a tragedy, isn't there a real, tangible risk that something bad might happen in two days? Mind you, I do not believe in an asteroid hitting the Earth, planets colliding or in any other pseudoscientific event that may or may not happen. What I worry about is panic. On National Geographic I see so called Doomsday Preppers coming up with all sorts of idiotic plans. Any one else scared of other people doing stupid things? Homo homini lupus I guess. Anela
I've had this on my mind, too - especially with the shootings happening everywhere.
M30USA
I don't believe there is anything to it. However, if I am wrong, it would only be if the Mayans actually had contact with fallen angels whom they believed were gods. The Bible tells us that demons and fallen angels have revealed information to mankind. Is this an example? I don't think so, but who knows.
somedude81
I doubt it will happen, just like the world didn't end on New Year's Day on 01/01/01. But it could happen. I should never say never. Or the hundreds of other predictions and fears. List of dates predicted for apocalyptic events - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Author AlexDP
Please read the OP carefully before posting. I don't believe there is anything to the apocalyptic fears. I don't think the apocalypse will happen. What I do wonder about is mass panic causing problems on a smaller scale. Please understand this difference, people. Eclypse
Unfortunately there are stupid people everywhere. I don't think anyone will do anything stupid, but you never know. This is not the first end of the world prediction (a few already this year), and it definitely won't be the last, and we've managed to get through those somehow. I for one am looking forward to the 22nd and putting all this nonsense behind us.

Author AlexDP
You were being really paranoid. It turns out I really wasn't. Nutters killed a bunch of people in China. Now I know it's more likely to happen in rural areas with little education, but it could have happened in other regions of the world too.
AlbertCotter
2012 is over now Honestly speaking, even in 2012, I didn't have any such belief that was being spread around on internet and other media. I didn't believe in that. I knew nothing was going to happen (like world end) in 2012.
