I saw him all last week (which was awesome) and I was supposed to be with him and his friends (and all his friends' girlfriends) for a NYE thing on the other side of the country, but I couldn't get enough money in time to buy a ticket when it was still a reasonable price. He's currently spending the holidays with his family in his hometown, so he's been very busy catching up with old friends and his family (who doesn't have internet). He said he'd make time to talk to me later on tonight and apologized for being so busy (he still does text me to tell me things). I am used to us being able to chat all day long every day. I can't stop that awful, nagging, creeping feeling that something is going to go sour and he'll suddenly be like "welp! That was fun but Christmas is over and I am not obligated to you. See ya!" Then I torture myself by looking at flight prices to LA and trying to think of ways I can get the money and quickly, just to see him for a day. Stupid, huh? So, any other of us in this boat out there today? How is your Christmas Eve going? Unwrap any gifts (is it obvious I am trying to stay preoccupied? haha)? Link to post Share on other sites

I sent her pictures and text messages during the day which she really appreciated. I feel ok because I was able to talk to her during the day, now it's Christmas for her and will be doing the same as I did in reserve. My grown son is visiting me and his grandparents and friends so my time is being spent with family. My partner is legally separated and will spend time with his daughters. The relationship is still new so it doesn't bother me too much. It will bother me a bit if he doesn't send me a message wishing me a Happy Holiday today. I know he is busy but, hey, a minute to write me; I thought I was worth at least that. This helps me realize I am on the bottom of his priorities actually; saddens me a bit. I will focus on the positive and realize how fortunate I am to have a wonderful family to spend the Holidays together. Link to post Share on other sites

We are in 28 degree heat and they are -13! Chatting and seeing them makes everything feel so much more real for us.
