Tony T
It really depends on the plant. Some actually thrive in darkness or with artificial light. Consult a botanist or a book on plants you can get in any public or college library for care of the specific plant you are inquiring about. Also, use your favorite search engine to find the information on the Internet. As a rule, however, most plants require varied amounts of natural sunlight and water to remain healthy. In most cases, light bulbs (even special ones) won't do. I do have a friend who used to grow marijuana inside using special bulbs and they did just fine. Growing the illegal plant outside may have subjected him to arrest and jailtime so I don't blame him. If going to jail is at risk here, please get the information you need as soon as possible.
