Hello,

I've recently quit smoking. Ever since, I can feel in areas of my body that I need to be healed. Also there is this looming sense of emotional eruption. I feel like I've been repressing a lot in my life and I've also done damage to my body through stress and from the smoking, bad eating etc.

I would like to feel whole and pure, in my thinking and physically.

Any suggestions? Certain meditations, teas, whatever.

Thanks,

Phil

Well, first of all congratulations on quitting this bad habit, which has only disadvantages and no advantage at all. It is undoubtedly slow poisoning.

And as far as physical harm to your body is concerned, definitely it does cause harm, but since you've quit it, so everything will be fine. So, if you have any physical issue, you can consult some doctor.

And regarding your mind, in your thinking, you can feel pure by thinking positive. We all have stresses in our life, even I was in a lot of stress for the past few weeks. But keep your mind positive, can be difficult at times. What you can do, keep your mind busy in those (positive) things, in which you find interest. Starting some kind of sport, exercise, reading can also be very helpful.

I'm also thinking to start some sort of exercise to keep my body fit.

Exercise, particularly long bouts of endurance exercise (my personal favorite is cross country skiing), provides an excellent emotional release for me.

You might look into yoga as well. My girl does it and it has been a very positive thing for her not only as physical exercise, but also with establishing mind-muscle connection, and centering oneself.
