ScienceGal
It's been a while since I've looked for new music. Just heard this and love it:Jason Collett - Rave On Sad Songs - Video Last night I dreamt I died as I slept on the floor Head between the speakers with tears fallin' stereo It's cold he said as he climbed out of bed, will this winter ever go He took your hands & warmed them in my own, so Rave on you sad songs, sad songs rave on I'm just feelin the temperature happiness is for amateurs Up in the afternoon grey until the evenings fade to black we crashed into the morn Stumblin home like skippin' stones precious to the bone By and by if you should see the light well steady as she goes Every horizon has some glow so Rave on you sad songs, sad songs rave on I'm just runnin' the temperature happiness is for amateurs There's things we all need to believe to carry on But I know you're not bein' honest with me when you tell me I'm wrong If you'll make up my mind some of the time, tonight I'll take what's in store So pour the wine, don't fall behind till they drag us out the door and Rave on you sad songs, sad songs rave on I'm just feelin' the temperature happiness is for amateurs (Yeh) Rave on sad songs, sad songs rave on I'm just runnin' the temperature happiness is for amateurs
Roi
These lyrics really helped me (shown in the video) "Pushing forward even though this life sucks sometimes, ****ing with this news, I promise I can get it untied. you made it out of bed, task one crossed off, step 2 show them that you ain't goin' to be a ragdoll stand up backbone strong enough to break falls.." It's about going through depression and changing your mind that you do not want to put up with it anymore and enjoy life as much as possible!
Minadee
Missy Higgins - Where I stood See I thought love was black and white That it was wrong or it was right But you ain't leaving without a fight And I think I am just as torn inside 'Cos I dont know who I am, who I am without you All I know is that I should And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you All I know is that I should 'Cos she will love you more than I could She who dares to stand where I stood

OMG I just can't believe I met an e-dubble fan in a random place. Oh, and something constructive: The night creeps through my bones with a winter's chill, sending shivers down my spine Like cold hands across my skin Five months have passed and taken with them every sense of warmth Until my blood ran cold and life stood still And still I hold my breath, counting the nights I've stood with my heart in hand And still I hold my breath, counting the nights. Waiting for silence to break me down again If only you could see See it in my eyes how much it means Your touch, Your smile To a heart thats beat has long since given out and given in The night opens wide, swallowing every sense Embracing me with emptiness The hours have become irritations, and I find myself reduced to life's imitation How can we truly say that we are alive When everything I see in me is screaming How can we truly say that we are alive When everything I see in me is screaming otherwise? It's screaming otherwise Cause five months have passed and taken with them every sense of warmth Until my blood ran cold and life stood still The hours have become irritations, and I find myself reduced to life's imitation
Keenly
I strongly recommend listening to Igor . It has helped me, almost single handedly get over my breakup. He does acoustic guitar covers, with his own spin on them. Anyone can find their favorite songs covered by him, over 260 of them. Trust me, try it out. This one is snow by red hot chili peps, but better imo.
Author ScienceGal
WOW, Igor is amazing! Band of Horses is one of my favorite bands and I adore this song: Promise the next one I post won't be depressing. The end's not near It's here Hallelujah Spread the cheer And watch the millenarians Throw a party for a thousand years You won't see the pious praying They'll be too busy flaying All the martyrs with better ways To stop the world decaying If you call me I won't be home I'm hiding from the kingdom come They can't see everything on earth With the satellites and the roving drones This is why hell is underground Like a reclaimed bad part of town We don't want to lose our souls We're the saints who don't want to be found Edited January 4, 2013 by ScienceGal
youngnlove89
PEARL JAM - Come Back Absolutely beautifully sung by Pearl Jam- makes me teary eyed every time If I keep holding out Will the light shine through? Under this broken roof It's only rain that I feel I've been wishin' out the days Oh oh oh Come back I have been planning out All that I'd say to you Since you slipped away Know that I still remain true I've been wishin' out the days Please say that if you hadn't have gone now I wouldn't have lost you another way From wherever you are Oh oh oh oh Come back And these days, they linger on, yeah, yeah And in the night, I've been waiting for A real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams I go to sleep If I don't fall apart Will my memory stay clear? So you had to go And I had to remain here But the strangest thing to date So far away and yet you feel so close I'm not going to question it any other way It must be an open door for you To come back And the days they linger on, yeah Every night I'm waiting for The real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams Sometimes you're there and you're talking back to me Come the morning I could swear you're next to me And it's ok It's ok, it's ok I'll be here Come back, come back I'll be here Come back, come back I'll be here Come back, come back Read more at Come Back Lyric Meaning - Pearl Jam Meanings

Love Bytes
Same bed but it feels just a little bit bigger now Our song on the radio but it don't sound the same When our friends talk about you all it does is just tear me down Cuz my heart breaks a little when I hear your name It all just sounds like ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh mmmm too young, too dumb, to realize... That I should have bought you flowers And held your hand Shoulda gave you all my hours When I had the chance Take you to every party Cuz all you wanted to do was dance Now my baby's dancin' But she's dancin' with another man My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made And it haunts me every time I close my eyes It all just sounds like ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh mmmm too young, too dumb, to realize... That I should have bought you flowers and held your hand Shoulda gave you all my hours When I had the chance Take you to every party Cuz all you wanted to do was dance Now my baby's dancin' But she's dancin' with another man Although it hurts I'll be the first to say that I was wrong Oh I know it's probably much too late To try and apologize for my mistakes But I just want you to know... I hope he buys you flowers I hope he holds your hand Gives you all his hours While he has the chance Takes you to every party Cuz I remember how much you love to dance Do all the things I should have done When I was your man Do all the things I should have done When I was your man

terlislee
Mindy Smith - One Moment More Mindy Smith - One Moment More - YouTube I cried over this one so much because it desribed perfectly how I felt the last time I saw him. I accidentally met him a week after he had broken up with me via text and burst into tears the moment he said hi and he just hugged me for half an hour and apologized and promised to call and take me out and all that. I was both happy to see him again and dying inside because I didn't believe him and wanted to hold onto him for as long as I could before he disappeared for good. Few days later he blocked me everywhere and I haven't heard from him since. ~*~ Regina Spektor - How
Author ScienceGal
I had not heard that Regina Spektor song before, it was beautiful! Mindy Smith broke my heart, and Josh Garrels was really good. Never heard of either of them before. Thank you for sharing. Leonard Cohen - Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye I loved you in the morning, our kisses deep and warm, your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm, yes, many loved before us, I know that we are not new, in city and in forest they smiled like me and you, but now it's come to distances and both of us must try, your eyes are soft with sorrow, Hey, that's no way to say goodbye. I'm not looking for another as I wander in my time, walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme you know my love goes with you as your love stays with me, it's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea, but let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't untie, your eyes are soft with sorrow, Hey, that's no way to say goodbye. I loved you in the morning, our kisses deep and warm, your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm, yes many loved before us, I know that we are not new, in city and in forest they smiled like me and you, but let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't untie, your eyes are soft with sorrow, Hey, that's no way to say goodbye. TheUnthoughtKnown
Some fantastic songs on here! I'll try and add a few of my own for your considerations. Since there's been a few Pearl Jam songs on here (including one of my ultimate break up songs "Come Back") I thought I'd add one here. I love this guy. He wrote an entire album about his break up from his wife, and it's brilliant. Sad but utterly uplifting song by this brilliant Scottish band. Lovely song by this charming indie band about growing up and all the experiences of life we go through and reflect on. I always think of this song like one of those adverts that chart someone's entire life in under a minute to emphasis the beauty of life. This song has that about it. It's about staying positive and realising it's all worth it as a part of life's experiences. One of my favourite songs from one of my favourite bands. This song is all about summing up a relationship. It's just beautiful and has to be heard. I've only gotten into this band recently, but I love the singers voice. She's so earnest. Really beautiful. And lastly This is a trilogy of songs based on a Japanese folktale about a man who falls in love with a beautiful woman and loses it all because of his greed. It's really fascinating and this band tell this story perfectly. I was entranced. There's three separate songs here and I can't decide which I love more so I had to put them all in.
