Fat bashing....what do you think?

My point, dear sir, is that if the brain (and behavior) responded identically to opium injections and to Big Mac Attacks, then they would both be legal

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

Right. Because that was the decison used to determine what would and would not be legal. Never mind that the dopamine receptor research is very recent.

Give it up. You haven't a logical leg to stand on.

Of course Dyer, when you talk about tolerance for narcotics you're speaking purely from a U.S. POV.

And? We've been talking about a U.S. POV since the question of obesity came up. We're the ones with the problem.

The main factor in whether a drug is legal or not was government profitability--why do you think tobacco is legal but marijuana is not?

Wouldn't a government be able to tax grass as easily as anything else:

GRASS TAX! GRASS TAX!!.........GRAaaaaaaSSSS.....TAX!!!! YEAH! :D:cool::D:love:

I would have taken that as a compliment, littleflowerpot, because I have a sense of humour-I think he just wanted to see more of you. Be flattered.

HavNfun,

Now do you see why you should use the PM???

You are absolutly right in shooting havnfun right out of the sky and letting us all watch him go down in flames.

Well done LFP. ;)

Your photo is at least as impressive as your determination to stamp out prejudice, where ever it may raise its fat head.

I have been subject to rude comments about my weight but I have never had job discrimination.

I work in a position that is normally associated with a thin person. I am a Registered Dental Assistant.

I have taken the last couple years off to raise my 5 boys and even so I receive job offers monthly from a huge amount of Dentists.

My reputation as a quality assistant who runs circles around others preceeds me. I have been told by my former employer that he would take me back in an instant.

The misconception that all fat people move very slowly and are poor employees has never been an issue for me. I feel terrible for those obese people that have had this prejudice.

I worked in a pediatric practice and was in high demand by parents wishing me to work with their child. The office had 9 assistants and three doctors and saw on an average of 90 patients a day for orthodontics, cleanings and fillings and surgical procedures.

What I am trying to point out is that those of you that have prejudices against fat people should consider watching a quality obese person in action.

Just as there are lazy slow thin people there are lazy fat people so do not judge ALL by one or two.

I am proud of the work I do and I know it sounds as if I am bragging but I think that a lot of the prejudice stems from people assuming that fat people do very little and that everyone has to work twice as hard to cover for them.

Just wanted to have a say :p

Over 39 million Americians were shifted from a government-approved "healthy" weight to the overweight catagory without gaining an ounce. Movie star Will Smith went to bed a hunk, and woke up a chunk. Michael Jordan, Johnny Depp, Pierce Brosnan and President Bush were also arbitrarily shifted to "overweight". According to the federal government, Tom Cruise is obese. So is Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Mike Tyson, and Matt Leblanc.

Ran across that somewhere on the internt. Thought I'd share.

A mistinerpretation of the BMI standards.

The BMI is not accurate for athletes like Michael Jordan and Mike Tyson, nor people on a strength training regimen, like Leblanc, Gibson, Schwarzenegger, Cruise, Depp, and Brosnan.

Admittedly, I don't know about Bush.
