NatoPMT
i dont believe this is true either. i used to be a habitual cheater, and i havent been unfaithful for a good few years now. ive grown out of it. and talked myself out of it.
EC
OMG bigbelm love love love the avatar!!! And yeah it's true either you grow out of it or you meet the right one and you want to cheat. Simple as that.
Butterfly_Queen
I don't believe the saying "once a cheater, always a cheater." I believe that people can change, but they have to want too.
ringo
I to believe people can change if they really want to and put forth the work continuously so they don't slip... however, my PERSONAL history leads me to "feel" otherwise... My grandfather continuously cheated on my grandmother. My dad cheated on my mom and his second wife. My step dad cheated on his first wife (repeatedly) - cheated on my mom (repeatedly) and is now cheating on his 3rd wife. My step dad's wife cheated on her first husband and on my step dad. My H cheated on me when we were dating and numerous times during the marriage. I've know others (outside my family) that have cheated and continue this behavior. Thus... IMO... feel I lead more towards "once a cheater always a cheater".
YellowLioness
I don't think that just because a person makes a mistake one time, that they are a cheater for all eternity. I sort of equate cheating to doing an addictive drug: You can do it, and get hooked on it, and then it hurts you badly. You see the error of your ways, and you stop because you want to be stable and wholesome. You've been to the bottom, you know its bad for you, so you never do it again. Or, you get people who just do it one time to see how it feels, or people who cheated, "just because my partner cheated." I mean... those are all screwed up reasons to do it, but that doesn't mean that the person will be consistant, or that they will even do it again.
EC
I agree yellow. I cheated 1 time. First and last time that I cheated. The guilt I felt still haunts me today. I would never do it again. So I was once a cheater but not anymore.
