Question for Dumpers - Underappreciated/Put on backburner

Recommended Posts

Just curious....

Has anyone dumped their bf/gf because they felt that they were underappreciated/put on the backburner/taken for granted? Did all the hurt and resentment make you feel like you were no longer in love with him/her? Did you end up giving him/her a second chance?? If so, what did he/she have to do to earn that second chance?

Thanks

I dumped my ex because he was an alcoholic, hence I was underappreciated, put on the back burner and taken for granted.

Do I still love him? Yes. But we're not together anymore.

Are we still talking? Yes. Am I going to give him another chance? If and only if he gets it together. If not, no way. He has a lot to make up for! It will take him a long time to redeem himself in my eyes.

I was definitely underappreciated and "put on the back burner" as you phrased it. Everything and everyone else came before me. So eventually I told him I couldn't see him anymore.

And yes, I gave him a second chance. He put on a good show, but once he felt like he was back in my good graces he began to do the same things all over again. So I did the hardest thing I've ever done and walked away for good. I regretted it for awhile. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't miss him everyday but....

I loved him more than I had ever loved anyone - and still do - but there is only so long that one can be made to feel completely incidental to someone's life before it takes a terrible toll. And as much as I love him I deserve better than that. So do you. Everybody does.
